Desktop App Pre-release (Beta) — Patch Release

  • LightBook AI Services Fix: Resolved AI module loading failures in the installed desktop app caused by missing Google Cloud dependencies and environment variable resolution.
  • Security Hardening: Production API keys are now embedded in compiled bytecode — the .env file is no longer shipped with the installer, preventing credential exposure.
  • Google Cloud Storage Module Guard: Added robust try/except fallback for google.cloud.storage import to prevent cascading failures when GCS binaries are unavailable.
  • Environment Variable Auto-Sync: Production settings are automatically synchronized into os.environ at startup, ensuring all services operate correctly without a .env file.
  • Electron .env Warning Fix: Eliminated spurious filesystem warnings in packaged builds when .env is absent.
  • Service Worker Cache Bust: Fresh cache version to ensure all clients receive the latest assets.
