EcoMind v1.0.0 Release Notes

Overview

EcoMind is a software that allows the classification and labeling of usable solid waste. Labeling categorizes waste according to specific characteristics such as material, packaging color, and capacity. Labeling is used to identify the waste according to particular characteristics and thus create a dataset.

Key Features

Registration and login: The web application facilitates users' registration and login experience, providing a simple and secure process to access its functionalities. Once registered, they can log in quickly and securely, granting them access to the application's functionalities. This authentication and authorization approach not only ensures the security of user information but also personalizes the user experience, allowing users to take full advantage of the web application's capabilities.

Waste labeling: The web application must allow users to label waste using the taxonomies available. The web application must upload the photo of a given waste from the computer to the labels tab; then, the label must be stored in the database. It also provides a labeling guide to facilitate the process.

Waste classification (by label or by form): The web application must be able to classify the entered waste (from a label previously defined) according to the category to which it belongs. The system must allow the user to classify waste from a form similar to the labeling form. Suppose labeling and correct classification of waste has been performed. In that case, the system must indicate, from an image displayed on the screen, in which part of the bin the waste should go in the bin.

My activity: The website presents the user's activity (tagging or classification). The website presents the user's activity (tagging or classification). This module has two subcomponents: The history of tags made and the History of classified garbage. The first one allows viewing the tagging history of a given user, and the second one allows viewing the tagging history of a given user.

My points: If the user has disposed of waste correctly, it should deliver an incentive based on the waste entered. If the user enters the incentives section, the system must allow the user to consult the incentives held through the web page. If the user tags a waste after logging in, the system must deliver some points and display this message on the screen.

Store: The web application must allow the user to redeem his points for incentives or bonuses, which will be presented in the virtual catalog. The store lets users exchange their earned points for products or incentives from its catalog. This module consists of two parts: the first, Redeem Points, enables users to exchange their points for Virtual Store products; the second, Product/Incentive Viewing, allows users to see available items without redeeming points. The Points Redemption part requires Product/Incentive Viewing to check product availability.
