Persona 1: Maya

  • Demographic Information:

    • Age: 21
    • Income: $10,400 (part-time, 20 hours a week, $10 per hour)
    • Education: Full-time college student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
  • Professional title:

    • Business Administration Student and Part-Time Barista
  • User Story:

    • Maya is a busy college student balancing her studies with a part-time job. Despite her packed schedule, she makes time for gaming to unwind and connect with her friends. As a social gamer, Maya refers multiplayer games that allow her to collaborate with others, whether it's working together to complete objectives or just hanging out in a spooky virtual environment. She enjoys playing games like Among Us for the laughs and teamwork, not for intense competition or stress.
    • Maya values games that are fun, easy to jump into, and offer the chance to engage with friends. For her, social interaction is just as important as the game itself. After long days of classes and work, she gravitates towards horror games that provide mix of suspense and fun, but nothing too fast-paced or scary.

    • Graham is a delivery driver and product stocker for Cheerwine. When night comes and his job duties are over for the day, Graham reserves time in the nights to play with his good friends, or “the boys”, online in cooperative games, when they are available. He likes these kinds of games since - when it comes to these games - it is the banter and the jokes between them that make them fun. Hearing his friends scream in a panic over an online chat app before discovering their player characters’ fate is the funniest thing to him.
    • Graham likes games that allow for emergent gameplay, where the players are simply given the tools and a goal, and are responsible for making their path on the way. He also likes games that he can test the limits of on his own, to see what challenges he could do to beat the game in the most stylish of ways possible.

    • A game that allocates for multiplayer as well as one that could be played single-player.
    • An interesting game loop that allows him and his friends to fool around while still able to progress without fault.

    • Tom is a Nurse Practitioner, recently graduated. He is very team-oriented and loves multiplayers games. He is also a fan of general mystery. He loves helping patients gets better and that translates into games as being a good support for his team members.
  • User Needs

    • Game to wind down with friends after dealing with patients the entire day.
    • An engaging experience with friends
    • A simple but engaging game loop
  • Goals/What the User Wants to Achieve

    • A game that promotes team work between players
    • One that can provide laughs as well as tense moments.
    • Game where playing as support can be important
