Alpha Code Activity Service

Alpha Code Activity Service is a robust backend service designed to manage and orchestrate various activities, actions, and interactions for the Alpha Code platform. It provides APIs for handling activities such as dances, expressions, joystick movements, and more, ensuring seamless integration with client applications.

The service acts as the central hub for managing activities, interacting with a PostgreSQL database, Redis for caching, and AWS S3 for storage.


Installation

Prerequisites

  • Java 17+
  • Maven 3.8+
  • Docker (optional, for containerized deployment)

Steps

  1. Clone the repository:
    git clone https://github.com/your-org/alpha-code-activity-service.git
  2. Navigate to the project directory:
    cd alpha-code-activity-service
  3. Build the project:
    ./mvnw clean install

Running the Project

Local Environment

Run the application locally:

./mvnw spring-boot:run

Dockerized Environment

Build and run the Docker container:

docker build -t alpha-code-activity-service .
docker run -p 8080:8080 alpha-code-activity-service

Environment Configuration

The application uses the following environment variables:

  • SPRING_PROFILES_ACTIVE: Set the active Spring profile (e.g., dev, prod).
  • DATABASE_URL: URL for the PostgreSQL database.
  • REDIS_URL: URL for the Redis cache.
  • AWS_S3_BUCKET: Name of the AWS S3 bucket.
  • JWT_SECRET: Secret key for JWT authentication.

Example .env file:
