v26.10.12
v26.10.11
New version numbers: from now on AgentBar uses calendar versions, year.month.release of that month. v26.10.11 is the eleventh AgentBar release in October 2026; the next month starts again at .1 (e.g. v26.11.1). The jump from v2.3.1 to v26.10.11 is intended – the update check sees it as newer, so "Check for Updates" finds it as usual.
No other changes in this release.
v2.3.1
v2.3
A livelier office.
- Espresso machine: agents that just finished a task sometimes walk over for a coffee, queue up, have a little chat and bring the cup back to their desk.
- Seasons: the trees outside blossom in spring, turn golden in autumn and go bare in winter (flipped for the southern hemisphere when a weather location is set).
- Holidays: Halloween (pumpkins, paper bats, costumes, a ghost robot vacuum), Valentine's Day and Easter (egg tree, hidden eggs, bunny ears).
- Rare moments: shooting stars, a flock of birds, a rainbow in light rain, a snowman when snow settles, and pizza on Friday lunchtime.
- Fix: a character no longer changes its look in the middle of a session, and the project name no longer flips between two projects.
v2.2.1
v2.2
A livelier office:
- Real weather behind the glass: enter a location in Settings → Office and you get clouds, rain with drops running down the window, fog, thunderstorms with lightning, and snow that settles on the hills and trees. The day follows the real sunrise and sunset, and on gloomy days the lamps come on. Weather comes from Open-Meteo; only the location, rounded to about 1 km, is sent.
- Holiday decorations: from the first Sunday of Advent the office decorates itself, a little more each week: wreath and paper stars, then string lights, the tree, presents. Boots on the desks on St. Nicholas Day, fireworks behind the glass on New Year's Eve, confetti the morning after.
- Outfits: the team dresses up: Santa hats, antlers and Christmas jumpers in Advent, party hats on New Year's Eve, scarves when it's freezing, sunglasses when it's hot. Everyone picks their own look each day.
v2.1
What's new
- Update window at launch: when a new version is out, AgentBar asks with Install Now, Later or Skip. It never takes keyboard focus, so typing elsewhere can't start an install.
- Safer pairing between Macs: stretched pairing key (PBKDF2), a Mac only answers after the other side proved the code, own limit for unconfirmed connections, network ID changes on every launch. Update all your Macs – older versions can't pair with 2.1.
- Usage: own section in Settings; no stale percentages while fetching is off or after the window reset; the low-usage notification reads as a full sentence.
- Settings: hint with a button when notifications or Local Network access are blocked; clearer status for Other Macs.
- Menu: dismissable Precise Detection card, scroll indicator for long lists, VoiceOver announces how many agents need you or are working.
- Office: sessions beyond 12 count towards the next room; long names end with an ellipsis.
- Under the hood: no downloads of offloaded iCloud files for statistics, no parallel update installs, cleanup after a failed update, settings.json written with final permissions.
v2.0.2
v2.0.1
v2.0
AgentBar 2.0
New
- Today & last 7 days: tokens, API-equivalent cost, sessions and top projects, computed locally.
- Usage forecast: how long your 5-hour window lasts at the current pace (menu and office display).
- Context bar in every row; warning when a session's context is almost full.
- Smarter notifications: the actual question an agent asks, Go to Session and Mute 1 hour actions, quiet hours, optional stuck-agent and other-Mac alerts.
- New menu bar icon, compact header with summary, keyboard navigation and full VoiceOver support.
- Redesigned settings: General section, diagnostics copy, check for updates.
Office
- Much lighter rendering: cached background, 10 fps when nothing moves, paused when hidden.
- Characters in the lounge free their desk; finished sessions walk out the door.
- Low-context battery badge, no more overlapping name tags on the sofa.
Under the hood
- Far less idle CPU (adaptive polling), chunked log reading, no lost hook events on log rotation.
- Hardened pairing between Macs, automatic restart after network changes.
- Updater no longer blocks the UI and checks that the app can be replaced.
- Pricing for Claude 5 models.
