Meshhessen Client v1.5.14
Kiosk mode
- you can now disable specific functions of the client. - For trainings or a shared space. (this is not to be 100% secure. - it is about protecting against accidental changes)
Vectortiles
- Disclaimer: New Version of map may have still issues and parts missing! - if you experince missing parts, or other stuff, that's not right: please report it!!
- This is the first version of the vector tiled map. - the "old" raster tiles are pre-rendered and slow to fetch. Vector tiles are getting rendered on the client side from meta-data. this is faster, but also uses more resources (on the client side) to produce a similar map. - so on older machines you probably want to stay pre-rendered raster tiles. Newer machines should be able to cope with that.
- I aligned the newer vector tiles for one use-case of the client in emergency service. - A emergency (fire brigade) layer has been added, that will only be fetched, if its enabled. this will show you hydrants, forest rescue points, fire stations, defibrillators, etc. - This is primarily for BOS application. - This is also offline usable.
- You can enable the new Vector map in the settings!
- there is a new downloader for the vectormaps data
- Vectortiles may not be used with T-Deck. - T Deck will still download rastertiles!
- Vector map does need WebView2 - if it is not installed, the client will fall back to rastered tiles. (Windows 11 ususally does have it)
v1.5.13
Direct neighbor lines on the map
Toggle in the legend box: draws lines from your position to every node you receive directly over RF (0 hops, no MQTT). Color gradient by SNR (red→yellow→green) or by age of the last contact (cyan→purple). The "Permanent" option shows every neighbor ever heard directly — historical contacts are restored from the telemetry DB.
Node tile view (Fancy View)
Optional responsive tile surface instead of the table. Each tile shows a ShortName badge in node color, PKI status, name, age, favorite, infrastructure/MQTT icons, power/battery+voltage, distance+altitude, hops, RSSI/SNR with color gradient and environment telemetry. Own node always on top.
Request information
Right-click submenu (list, tile, map) requests data from a node on demand: user info, position, device/environment/air-quality/power/host metrics, mesh stats, PAX counter.
Signal values right in the chat
Messages received directly over RF now show SNR and RSSI right in the message bubble — colored by signal quality. You can tell at a glance how good the link to the sender is.
Advanced node filters
By last seen (5 min – 60 days), hide MQTT, favorites only, SNR coloring, sort dropdown.
More fixes
RSSI/SNR only shown for direct reception · DM freeze while typing fixed · ~90 umlaut encoding errors repaired · various UI polish (map top bar, legend, column widths, wider startup window).
(also includes v1.5.12: per-node station names + MQTT proxy status fix)
