MQTT Storage, Mapping and SNode.C 2.0 Support

MQTTSuite 1.0.2 brings improvements to MQTT integration, broker bridging, message persistence and web management, together with support for SNode.C 2.0.

📦 Get prebuilt packages

Install MQTTSuite without building from source: visit the SNodeC Project Package Repository for prebuilt packages and installation instructions.

Highlights

  • MQTTStore: persist MQTT messages in MariaDB, with optional JSON projections into application-owned typed tables and validation of projection configuration.
  • MQTT mapping: improved mapping configuration, runtime updates and resubscription handling, plus fixes for multi-level topic wildcard matching.
  • MQTTBridge: updated connection management for independent connection flows and checked runtime reconfiguration.
  • Web management: expanded broker and bridge interfaces for inspecting clients, subscriptions, retained messages and configuration.
  • Semantic logging: adoption of SNode.C’s consolidated logging API for more consistent application and connection diagnostics.
  • Packaging and builds: component-based DEB and RPM packaging, consistent MQTT WebSocket target names, and improved compiler compatibility.
  • Documentation: revised installation, mapping, bridging, storage and deployment guides with practical examples.

Five applications, one suite

  • MQTTBroker — Run an MQTT 3.1.1 broker with web management and optional message mapping.
  • MQTTIntegrator — Transform topics and payloads using mapping rules and INJA templates.
  • MQTTBridge — Relay selected topics between brokers.
  • MQTTCli — Publish, subscribe and diagnose MQTT connections from the command line.
  • MQTTStore — Store messages and project telemetry into MariaDB tables.

Use the applications independently or combine them to connect devices, translate messages and store telemetry.

Upgrading

This release targets SNode.C 2.0.0 and its compatible API/ABI. When building from source, rebuild MQTTSuite and its WebSocket plugins against compatible SNode.C headers and libraries. Do not mix plugins or libraries built for SNode.C 1.x with SNode.C 2.0.

For package installations, use matching packages from the repository so the required framework dependencies are installed together. Back up configuration, mapping files and database contents before upgrading.
