What's New

This release updates RoundedTB to run on Windows 11 24H2 and 25H2 (build 26100+), which the original archived project did not support.

Changes

  • Windows 11 25H2 compatibility — hardened UIAutomation taskbar detection to handle Microsoft's updated XAML tree structure in newer Windows builds, with automatic fallback so the app keeps working even if future updates reorganise the taskbar internals
  • Upgraded to .NET 9 — the original .NET 6 runtime reached end-of-life in November 2024 and is no longer shipped with new Windows installs
  • Fixed startup shortcut creation — replaced a COM reference that blocked the app from building on modern .NET tooling
  • Reduced background CPU usage — taskbar alignment is now checked once per second instead of 10 times per second
  • Fixed crash stack traces — exception info is now preserved correctly when the background worker hits a fatal error

How to Install

  1. Download RoundedTB-v1.0.1.zip
  2. Extract anywhere
  3. Run RoundedTB.exe
  4. The app will appear in your system tray — click the icon to open settings

Requirements

  • Windows 11 22H2 or newer (including 24H2 and 25H2)
  • No separate .NET install needed — the required runtime is included in the zip
