This major update introduces a powerful interactive chat interface for discussing papers with AI, along with significant performance and usability improvements.

🤖 Interactive Chat Interface

  • Local Chat Dialog: New /chat command opens a real-time chat interface with OpenAI GPT
  • Configurable Models: Support for any OpenAI model (GPT-4o, GPT-4, etc.) via OPENAI_MODEL env var
  • Automatic PDF Context: First 10 pages of PDFs are automatically included in chat context
  • Auto-Summarization: Papers without notes get automatic AI-generated summaries
  • Smart Navigation: Input history with up/down arrows, contextual scrolling

🎹 Enhanced Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Chat Interface:
    • Enter - Send message
    • Ctrl+J - Insert newline
    • Ctrl+S - Send message (alternative)
    • ↑/↓ - Navigate input history or scroll chat
    • PageUp/PageDown - Scroll chat by page
    • Esc - Close chat
  • Updated F-Keys: F4 now opens chat interface

🌐 Browser Chat Integration

  • Quick Access: /chat [provider] opens Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini web interfaces
  • Provider Options: claude, chatgpt, gemini
  • Automatic PDF Opening: PDFs open alongside browser chat interfaces
