Microphone selection is broken in Tauri linux

Describe the bug

When joining a voice channel, CEF will ask for permission to give the app microphone access after which it'll simply get "Microphone 1" and no other microphone

In addition, it'll ask for permission every single time Sable is relaunched

Reproduction

Join a voice channel on Linux

Expected behavior

No prompt and ability to switch microphone

Platform and versions

OS: NixOS 26.11 (Zokor) unstable
Version: Sable v1.20.1-nightly.260729114420-dev (22e4097)
Matrix Homeserver: matrix.org

Additional context

A temporary fix is to add "--use-fake-ui-for-media-stream" to the command line

+1, have this happen to me on Linux. Microphone 1 and Camera 1 for camera inputs, no other selection possible. It asks for permission and can't get the data from the OS

I wonder if the commit 8bd5833 is what is causing my screen share now to be completely broken in #1581

I can also attest this bug is still present.

With 8bd5833 reverted, Screenshare works again, so yeah that was the commit that broke my ability to use screenshare. Microphone selection still doesn't work, just says "Microphone 1"

My current audio system is:

the USE flag for "pulseaudio" is enabled so it acts in place of pulseaudio. pipewire-alsa allows alsa plugin.

I will also add to this, the webcam selection is the same story. Webcam selection says: "Camera 1" not the actual camera

I only have my headset's eye tracking camera plugged in right now, usually I use a video camera on a camlink for webcam capture. With just my VR headset's camera in:
