v1.0.0-beta.1 — sworn provenance for every AI write

Choose a tag to compare

@seevali seevali released this 23 Aug 21:23

First public release. Affiant is a deterministic evidence layer for .NET agents: every AI-proposed database write becomes a sworn, field-level Affidavit reviewed by a human before it commits.

Docs & quickstart: https://affiant.dev · Install: dotnet add package Affiant.Core --prerelease

Highlights

  • Ten co-versioned packages targeting net10.0, arranged as a strict DAG rooted at Affiant.Abstractions, with Affiant.Core beneath seven adapters — Affiant.SemanticKernel, Affiant.AgentFramework, Affiant.Extensions.AI, Affiant.Docket, Affiant.EntityFramework, Affiant.Policies, Affiant.Transport.SignalR — plus Affiant.Testing.ComplianceHarness.
  • Three interception backends. Backend-neutral tool interception with thin bridges for Semantic Kernel, the Microsoft Agent Framework, and Microsoft.Extensions.AI — covering locally-invoked tools only (hosted/server-side tools are out of scope, stated honestly on every doc surface).
  • Field-level sworn provenance. Affidavit / AffidavitField carry a ProvenanceChain and PreviousValue per field, an AggregateConfidence, and the seven-state ProvenanceSource determinism hierarchy (UserStatedEmpty).
  • Review pipeline. The ReviewGate state machine, durable Docket review queue, Evidence Card round-trip with reviewer amendments, and standing-order / referral / reviewer-confirmation approval policies.
  • Affiant.Testing.ComplianceHarness — fails your CI when a write strategy lacks tests asserting provenance substance, not just shape — born from our own worst bug (330/330 tests green while every affidavit shipped empty), plus a cross-backend parity suite gating all three bridges.
  • Persistence for the Docket and sessions: in-memory, SQLite, PostgreSQL. SignalR streaming transport and Evidence Card hub. Apache-2.0.

Notes

This is a beta: the invariant — every field carries provenance — is stable; the public API may change before 1.0.0 GA. Validated by two first-party host applications (one on the MAF bridge, one on the Microsoft.Extensions.AI bridge). The 0.0.x-preview versions on nuget.org are empty name-reservation stubs, not usable releases.
