Release list
H.E.R.M.E.S. v1.0.2
H.E.R.M.E.S. v1.0.1
A smaller release focused on Home and distribution, plus the update mechanism itself going live for the first time.
Home
- The app opens at a bigger default size now, so settings aren't hiding below the fold on a smaller window.
- Settings moved into their own collapsible panel that stays put no matter how the window is resized.
- You can now remove HERMES's own downloaded ffmpeg copy from Home, not just download it.
Distribution
- Installer only from here on. No more portable zip, one clean download link.
- HERMES can now check for updates and apply them itself in the background.
H.E.R.M.E.S. v1.0.0
H.E.R.M.E.S. v1.0.0
The first full release. HERMES turns a raw stream clip into a finished, edited, ready-to-post
YouTube Short - import, crop and lay it out, add highlights and branding, cut out the dead air,
adjust the audio, render, export. Built by a streamer, for streamers.
Get it
- Portable (
HERMES-1.0.0-portable.zip) - unzip and run, nothing installed, fully
self-contained (ffmpeg included, no separate setup needed). - Installer (
HERMES-1.0.0-setup.exe) - a normal per-user install, no admin rights required.
Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" warning on first run since the app isn't
code-signed yet - click More info -> Run anyway. Normal for a small unsigned app like this.
HERMES checks for updates and tells you when a new one's out, but for this release you'll still
grab it yourself from here. One-click in-app updating is coming very soon in the first update
after this one.
What's new since the beta rounds
- A persistent action toolbar and a properly categorized inspector - no more hunting for buttons.
- Branding/watermarks are now a full list of freely resizable overlay images.
- Multi-step undo/redo, plus autosave per clip so your edits are never at risk.
- Per-section AND free-region audio volume control.
- A long-clip guardrail, a recent-files list, and a "new clips detected" import shortcut.
- A real performance fix for preview drag lag and long-clip seek lag.
- A guided first-time tour on every tab (fully optional, replayable from Home).
- Feedback and bug-report buttons built into the About tab.

A note on the name
HERMES is free, has no ads, and nothing in it is ever paywalled. If it saves you time and you want
to help it grow faster, there's an optional Ko-fi - never required
for anything the app does.
