SwiftGibs v1.1.7

Map votes without squinting at chat.

New

  • Map-vote panel. When a vote kicks off, SwiftGibs now builds a live panel: map thumbnails, running tallies, and a one-click vote button per map - no more decoding wall-of-text chat spam or typing numbers. A winner banner appears when the vote closes and the panel dismisses itself on map change. Works with two server flavours, auto-detected:

    • MAPBATTLE-style servers (RUGBY and friends): the panel votes by quietly saying the right number for you.
    • Stock servers: the panel tallies map suggestions and votes the proper way.

    Open it with V during a vote, or turn on auto-open in Esc > options > SwiftGibs. Note for RUGBY-family servers: some only count votes from players who are actually playing - if your vote isn't tallying, frag someone first.

  • Zoom: hold or toggle. New option in the SwiftGibs tab (Aim section): keep the stock click-to-toggle zoom (default) or switch to hold-to-zoom, where MOUSE2/G/Z zoom only while held. Deep zoom is unaffected and stays hold-to-use.

  • Windows: swiftgibs-win64.zip - or run update-swiftgibs.bat in your existing folder
  • macOS (Apple Silicon): SwiftGibs-mac.zip - first launch: right-click, Open, Open

@github-actions github-actions released this 21 Jul 00:54

SwiftGibs v1.1.6

Quick follow-up to v1.1.5 fixing the hit-marker system.

Fixed

  • Hit markers no longer double-draw. v1.1.5 layered the new overlay markers on top of the classic crosshair-swap. The classic swap is now its own style in the picker: choose Off, Classic (the original crosshair-swap, still the default), X-flash, Ring-out, or Notch - exactly one draws at a time.
  • Slimmer X-flash and Notch. Both overlay markers lost some weight so they read crisp instead of chunky.
  • Classic previews too. Auditioning Classic in the Cues tab now flashes the real crosshair-swap over the menu, like every other cue demo.

@github-actions github-actions released this 20 Jul 22:21

SwiftGibs v1.1.5

The biggest SwiftGibs release yet: new timing cues, hit markers, streak fx, a whole-map overlay, deep zoom, weapon sounds with real pitch control, a sensitivity translator, and reorganised menus.

New

  • Hit markers. Visual confirmation at your crosshair every time you land a shot: X-flash (on by default), Ring-out, or Notch. Scales with damage, pairs with your hit sound. Pick yours in Cues.
  • New countdowns: Slam and Orbit. Two punchy, beat-locked replacements for the weakest reload countdowns. Slam hammers bars in from the screen edges one beat at a time; Orbit laps a comet around your crosshair, spiralling inward until it dives at fire-time. (Rings, Sweep, and Pips retired.)
  • Cue colours. Hue-shift, monochrome, and opacity controls for the countdown and the ready flash, with live previews as you drag. Defaults keep the classic look.
  • Streak fx. Killstreak milestones now hit: "N STREAK" slams centre-screen with a shockwave (or pick the subtle counter pulse, or turn it off). Plus a streak leaderboard: your top 5 killstreaks ever, with the map and date each was set, on the career stats page, and an optional best-streak scoreboard column.
  • Expanded map. Press M for a whole-stage overhead map with your position and facing, teammates, friends, and flag positions live. Teammates only, never enemies. Press M again to close.
  • Deep zoom. Hold a thumb button (Mouse6/7) for a much tighter zoom than right-click, for picking off far targets. Strength slider in the SwiftGibs tab.
  • Flag-carry popup. "YOU HAVE THE FLAG - RUN IT HOME" punches up the moment you grab it, so a flag never goes unnoticed again. On by default, toggleable.
  • Weapon sounds. Give your rifle a Laser, Zap, or Thump fire sound, and add an optional reload-charge soundscape (rising laser charge or building hum) over the 1.5s reload. Your ears only: enemies always sound stock so you can still read their shots.
  • Pitch everything. A real pitch engine: hit sounds, fire sounds, and reload charges all have continuous pitch sliders from 50% to 200%, previewed live.
  • Sensitivity translator. Bring your aim from CS/Source/TF2, Quake, Apex, Overwatch, CoD, or Valorant: type your sens, get the exact SwiftGibs equivalent, apply it with one click. Also shows your current sens expressed in every other game.
  • Blocky lighting (optional). A crisp pixelated-shadow look for the flat world, discovered via an in-game feedback report from isa - thanks isa! Opt in from the SwiftGibs tab; applies on the next map load.
  • Enemy-friend highlighting is now opt-in. Friends on the enemy team render plain enemy red by default so team reads stay instant; tick "incl. enemy friends" to give them a distinct crimson tint (redder and subtler than the old orange).

Changed

  • Menus reorganised into four themed tabs: SwiftGibs (general and HUD), Cues (everything you see), Audio (everything you hear), and Friends, with clearer section headers throughout. Everything still previews live.
  • Career stats page now shows both all-time and this-session best streaks.
  • Hit sound preview respects your pitch setting.
  • Nothing about your saved settings changes on upgrade: your existing choices and binds are never overwritten, and M / Mouse6 / Mouse7 are only claimed if you haven't bound them yourself.

SwiftGibs v1.1.4

Talk to us and stay current: in-game feedback, an update banner, and a one-click updater.

New

  • In-game feedback (F8). Press F8 mid-game to report a bug or send an idea: it snaps a screenshot of that exact moment, opens the feedback page right over the action, and posts your report to this repo's public issues - no account needed. Reports are anonymous unless you tick "sign with my player name", and each one carries the telemetry that helps us fix things: version, platform, map, mode, position, fps, and your match stats. A checkbox drops the screenshot if you'd rather not send it. F8 is only claimed if you haven't bound it to something else; the page is also under Esc > options > SwiftGibs > send feedback.
  • Update banner. The main menu tells you when a newer SwiftGibs release is out. The check is silent and instant; offline just means no banner.
  • One-click updater. Run update-swiftgibs.bat in the game folder and it downloads the latest release and updates in place. Your settings, friends, and stats are kept.
  • Version stamp. The main menu always shows the client version in the bottom-right corner.
  • Desktop shortcut helper. Run make-shortcut.bat once for a proper SwiftGibs desktop shortcut with the game's icon and no console window.

Download

  • Windows: swiftgibs-win64.zip
  • macOS (Apple Silicon): SwiftGibs-mac.zip - first launch: right-click, Open, Open
  • Linux (x86-64): SwiftGibs-linux-x86_64.tar.gz

SwiftGibs v1.1.3

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Jul 21:30

SwiftGibs v1.1.3

A menus and feedback update: settings now show you what they do.

New

  • Live previews everywhere. Pick a reload countdown, ready flash, or metronome style and it plays out immediately - right over the menu, including the main menu, so you can tune your cues before ever joining a game. Hit sounds and volumes audition as you click or drag, the killstreak ding plays when you enable it, and a pulsing crosshair appears for crosshair-linked styles.
  • Timing Cues tab. The reload countdown, ready flash, and metronome now live in their own top-level options tab, with radio selectors for every style.

Fixed

  • No more mystery numbered tabs. Menu content that outgrew a tab used to spill into a bare-numbered extra tab (and the Friends tab could do this on busy servers, one row per player). Tabs are now fixed-size, with long lists on dedicated pages - the Friends tab shows who's in game with a full manage-friends page behind it.

Download

  • Windows: swiftgibs-win64.zip
  • macOS (Apple Silicon): SwiftGibs-mac.zip - first launch: right-click, Open, Open

SwiftGibs v1.1.2

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Jul 19:29

SwiftGibs v1.1.2

One fix, for all platforms: your settings are yours now.

Previous versions re-applied the SwiftGibs competitive config (sensitivity, gamma, FOV, crosshair, and friends) on every launch, silently overwriting any changes you had made. As of v1.1.2 those defaults are applied once, on first run — after that, everything you change in the options persists like it should.

Upgrading note: your first launch of v1.1.2 applies the SwiftGibs defaults one last time (there was no way to tell your settings from the old pinned ones). Set things how you like them — from now on they stick.

@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Jul 18:49

SwiftGibs v1.1.1

A fix release for v1.1. Windows and Linux builds are unchanged apart from the name fix below; macOS users should definitely update — the v1.1 mac app could not launch from Finder.

Fixed

  • macOS: the app now launches. The v1.1 SwiftGibs.app failed with "cannot find data files" when opened from Finder; the engine now locates the bundle's own data and stores your settings in ~/Library/Application Support/SwiftGibs. The mac bundle also ships the SwiftGibs / Cues / Friends settings tabs it was missing. (Contributed by Becky Conning — thanks!)
  • Your player name now sticks. v1.1 shipped a config line that reset the player name to "Swift" on every launch. Set your name once; it persists.

Download

  • Windows: swiftgibs-win64.zip
  • macOS (Apple Silicon): SwiftGibs-mac.zip — first launch: right-click → OpenOpen (one-time Gatekeeper step)
  • Linux (x86-64): SwiftGibs-linux-x86_64.tar.gz

Settings and friends carry over. If v1.1 renamed you to "Swift", just set your name again — it'll stay put now.
