Exercio v0.1.0-beta.1

The first public release of Exercio — an offline-first guitar practice app for
building personalized routines, running focused practice sessions, and tracking
progress.

Everything works with no network. No account, no cloud, no telemetry, no model.

What it does

Build a routine by hand, section by section — or answer eight questions and
let Guitar DNA propose one shaped around what you actually want to play.
The generator is a deterministic local function: the same answers always
produce the same routine, and every section explains itself in plain words.

Practise it with a section timer, a separate focus timer for one exercise
at a time, and a metronome that has its own tempo independent of the exercise.
The metronome runs in a foreground service, so it keeps sounding when the
screen locks.

See what happened. Every attempt records the tempo used and, optionally,
how it went. Current tempo, target tempo, clean streaks and the progress graph
are all derived from that history — so correcting an old rating corrects the
graph.

Plus: 15 practice categories and 147 recommended topics, six visual themes, six
original metronome sound packs, optional quality and fatigue ratings, and
locked-screen target cues.

Android will warn you about installing outside the Play Store. That is expected
for a sideloaded APK. There is no Play Store listing yet.

Verifying your download

Every APK is signed with the permanent Exercio release certificate:

Every future Exercio update will be signed with this same certificate. If an
APK claiming to be Exercio shows a different fingerprint, it did not come from
here.

Testing status

Tested on physical hardware and working. It is called a beta because it has
been tested by one person on one phone, not because anything is known to be
broken.

Bug reports from other phones are the single most useful thing right now,
especially for audio — behaviour varies enormously between manufacturers. There
are issue templates
for exactly that.

Known limitations

• Android only. No iOS, web or desktop.
• No backup or export. Uninstalling deletes your practice history
  permanently. This is high on the roadmap.
• No routine sharing. A routine cannot leave the phone yet — planned for
  v0.2.
• No cloud sync, and no account system.
• Locked-screen target cues depend on Android's precise-alarm access. From
  Android 17, with that permission denied and the metronome stopped, a
  background cue may not sound at all — Android silences background audio
  without warning in that case. Foreground practice is unaffected either way.

Privacy

Nothing leaves your device. There is no server to send it to, no analytics SDK,
no crash reporting and no advertising. Four Android permissions, all for making
a sound at the right moment — two of them optional.

What is next

Routine sharing, then optional cloud sync, then backups and more themes. No
dates, and not everything will be built —
ROADMAP.md is the
honest version.

Two things will always be true: the app keeps working fully offline, and no
account is ever required to practise.
