Fixes
macOS host
- When the last client disconnects, or its connection drops, the Mac's displays are put back the way they were: physical monitors turned off from the client come back on, the dynamic main display is undone and the virtual monitors are removed. The same happens when the service is turned off in Remote Display Server. Each client re-applies its saved monitor layout on the next connection, so nothing is lost.
- After unmirroring, the physical display returns to its own resolution reliably. Previously the remembered mode could be the virtual monitor's one, and macOS could re-pick a mode a moment after the restore.
Remote Display Server (macOS)
- Grant… no longer opens System Settings on top of macOS's own permission dialog. If macOS does not show the dialog anymore, a second tap opens the Settings panel directly.
- Quit (menu bar item or ⌘Q) now stops the engine as well, restoring the Mac's displays first. Replacing the app in the Applications folder no longer fails with "the item is in use". The service stays enabled: it starts again at the next login or when the app is reopened. (Server DMG updated on 2026-09-03 12:56 UTC.)
Clients
- macOS client: fixed a crash on launch (exit code 141, SIGPIPE).
- Desktop clients:
remotedisplay://connection/new/<host>?password=…links and--connectnow work while the app is already running.
