rustprofile v0.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@SamuelSupe SamuelSupe released this 17 Aug 04:14

This release adds bounded off-CPU profiling, attach-before-run launch collection,
perf.data/simpleperf import, Firefox profile serving and galleries, bounded
timelines, richer diagnostics, and the corresponding CLI/test coverage.

Binary archives are available for Linux aarch64 and x86_64:

  • rustprofile-0.2.1-linux-aarch64.tar.gz
  • rustprofile-0.2.1-linux-x86_64.tar.gz
  • SHA256SUMS

Validation: both release binaries were built in Linux containers, report
rustprofile 0.2.1, and their archives pass the published SHA256 checksums.
cargo fmt --check, cargo metadata --locked --no-deps, SVG XML parsing, and
git diff --check passed. Full native cargo test/Clippy validation remains
limited by the local macOS dependency-fetch environment; native x86_64
perf/eBPF runtime validation is not claimed.

rustprofile 0.1.0

@SamuelSupe SamuelSupe released this 16 Aug 01:37

rustprofile 0.1.0

Initial public release of a Linux continuous CPU and sampled-heap profiler for:

  • existing host processes;
  • Docker containers; and
  • Kubernetes application containers selected through the node-local DaemonSet.

Highlights:

  • pprof protobuf and schema-versioned diagnostics output;
  • automatic frame-pointer calibration with DWARF fallback;
  • optional static SVG flame graphs;
  • optional OTLP/HTTP Profiles export;
  • atomic window publication and bounded session retention; and
  • aarch64 and x86_64 Linux release archives.

Download the archive matching both the host and target process architecture, then
verify it with SHA256SUMS. The runtime is privileged and kernel-sensitive; read
the validation limits and deployment warnings in README.md before production use.

Validation for this tag includes current release builds for aarch64 and x86_64 and
archive/gzip/SHA256 checks. Full Rust test and Clippy gates remain environment-blocked
by the OrbStack crates.io certificate chain and are not claimed as passed here.
