PS2RC Converter 0.1.1
What's new in 0.1.1
- Intro movies and animated menu icons fixed. In 0.1.0 the converted intro movies and an animated icon made from
a clip or GIF showed green garbage (a fault of the bundled ffmpeg build). The new build is correct, and the
converter now checks every converted movie and icon against its source and stops with a plain message if the
pictures do not match. - Pictures and music from the game disc: the "From the game disc..." buttons work without a game-specific script.
- Settings files renamed to
ps2rc.cfg(andps2rc_dev.cfg). A folder made by 0.1.0 keeps working;update
moves your settings intops2rc.cfgand keeps the old file next to it as.old. - About dialog (Help > About): version, licence, community link.
- Repair without the disc:
updatecan repair a folder's settings files without the disc image.
If you converted with 0.1.0, convert again with 0.1.1 (the movies and the animated icon are made new).
PS2RC turns a PlayStation 2 disc that you own into a game folder for the Sony PSP, entirely on your own PC.
PS2RC is developed as a converter for the PS2 version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (PAL disc SLES-52541, version 2.01).
This project is not affiliated with, authorized or endorsed by Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive or Sony Interactive Entertainment.
No game data is included. Nothing made from a game is in this release: you need your own disc image, and
everything the converter makes from it stays on your PC. Never share the folder it makes.
What you need
- A disc image (ISO) made from your own copy of the disc named above (PAL, version 2.01). Other versions or
regions are refused with a message. - A 64-bit Windows 10 (1809 or newer) or Windows 11 PC. Nothing else to install: the download brings its own
Python, Qt, PSP toolchain, ffmpeg and atracdenc. Windows N / KN: install Microsoft's free Media Feature Pack for
the menu music option. - A PSP-2000 or PSP-3000 with custom firmware (ARK), about 4 GB free on the memory stick. Other models: unknown.
How to use
- Download
PS2RC_Converter_0.1.1_win64.zip, check its SHA-256 (the.sha256file), unpack it into a folder whose
path has only plain letters, digits and spaces. - Start PS2RC Converter.exe, pick your disc image and the memory stick (or an output folder), optionally your
own menu icon, pictures and music, then press Convert (about 10-15 minutes). - If you converted into a folder, copy the converted folder (its name is shown at the end:
PS2RC_
followed by the disc serial) toPSP/GAME/on the memory stick and start it from the PSP menu. The settings file
ps2rc.cfgnext to the game explains every option.
Command line: ps2rc-convert.cmd <your disc image> --out <folder> (--help lists the options).
