Quarry v1009
Builds the data for Sandstone Engine b1009
from a PS2 disc image you own. The converter version tracks the engine build number, so
v1009 goes with b1009.
Fixed in this release
- Pickup models were never baked from a PS2 disc. The step required
DATA/MAPS/GENERIC/PROPEXT.IDE, which is a PC file, and gave up on the first miss - so
data/pickupscame out empty and every pickup in the game was invisible: money, health,
armour, bribe, info, the save icon, the jetpack. They still worked and could be
collected, they simply had nothing to draw.DYNAMIC.IDEdeclares the band and is on
the disc; the PC-only file is optional now. - The default
settings.txtswitched off the backdrop behind the on-screen log, so
boot messages floated over the world with nothing behind them. - The jetpack is baked as three parts (body plus two nozzle frames) so its nozzles can
move. - The SFX bake no longer depends on a warm temp directory: the PS2 executable and the two
surface tables are staged by the audio step rather than by a later one. - Draw-distance ceiling raised so the Quality preset can reach the original game's
horizon in clear weather.
If you converted with v1005 or v1008, please re-convert. Delete your data/pickups
folder first if the tool reports the step as up to date.
Requirements
Windows, plus the .NET Desktop Runtime. Point it at a PS2 disc image you own and it
writes the data/ folder the engine loads. No game assets are included.
