Project Kestrel v(Finch 2026.02.20) Release!
Welcome to version-Finch! Project Kestrel has gone through massive improvements, bug fixes, performance updates, and a User Interface overhaul to become much more intuitive. Bug fixes have been released for MacOS, too!
Project Kestrel v(Finch) Key Changes
- One app. No more "Kestrel Analyzer" and "Kestrel Visualizer". Project Kestrel is now a single app, through which you can both analyze your photos and explore your photo library.
- Explore multiple folders at once! You can now explore multiple folders at the same time with Project Kestrel. This means you can search through tens of thousands of images over many different birding outings by species!
- Queue Folders for Analysis First time using Kestrel? You can easily queue multiple folders to be analyzed, and leave Kestrel running in the background or overnight.
- Tutorial View Once Project Kestrel is opened, you'll be greeted with a quick-start tutorial to get running as fast as possible
- Massive performance uplift. Project Kestrel now loads much faster.
