General updates (roundtable)

• Technical meeting updates

  • Technical meetings occur fortnightly on Fridays in alternate weeks from this meeting - next is on 29th May.

• Refactoring project updates

  • Refactoring Hackathon II will take place 2/3 days in June
  • Jeff sent out a doodle poll - please fill it in.

• SASBDB integration project (Wojciech)

• Generic Scattering Calculator redesign working group

  • the webpage has been updated

• Sasmodels working group (refactoring project and marketplace vs core etc) (Paul and Wojciech)

6.2.0 Release

• Code freeze started on 15th May.

• Alpha is available now

• Please download and test

• Release checklist

• New versions for SasModels (1.0.13) and SasData (0.12.0)

• Timeline:

  • Mid June: end of alpha testing and full code freeze
  • End of June: full release

• This is a feature release, so the main focus is on new features and major changes:

  • MultiSlicers by @jellybean2004 in

  • Invariant refactor and improvements by @jellybean2004 in
    #3789, #3835, #3861, #3888, #3897

  • NavigationTool (Send to Data Explorer button on plots) by @ChristianWoegerbauer in

    #3587, #3833, #3850

• PRs related to these (dependencies, patches) will be included in the alpha

• Major bug fixes will be included in the alpha

• Additional bug fixes and infrastructure changes to include: to be discussed

Acknowledgements

• How should we acknowledge contributing institutions? Do we continue to use logos? If so how do we decide?
• The suggestion we currently have is:
  • We will remove the logos from the SasView application and rephrase the wording to avoid listing institutions.
  • We will add lists of affiliations to the people page on sasview.org, alongside a separate list of contributor camp hosts.
  • We will also update the grants section of the people page, and the contributors.tsv file in the SasView repo.
