Installable local asset workflow

This release packages the lab CLI, authenticated local asset daemon, OCI asset store, and kinematic instance runtime in one executable. Use the generated shell/PowerShell installers below; a Rust toolchain, Docker, and a source checkout are not required for normal asset management.

  • Fix Windows background-process startup when the caller captures stdout/stderr.
  • Resolve file paths in the calling workspace; share one operation implementation between direct and daemon execution.
  • Authenticate and bound daemon requests, preserve startup diagnostics, reject duplicate foreground daemons, and drain work before stopping.
  • Stream cached uploads outside the store lock, keeping verified file handles alive during garbage collection.
  • Split USD using exact prim paths and OpenUSD composition, preserve portable texture dependencies and lineage, and publish child directories atomically.

USD splitting prerequisite: Python 3.12 with usd-core==25.11; set LAB_USD_PYTHON or use lab split --python. The adapter is included in the binary. Other asset commands and kinematic instances do not require Python. Child previews are inherited and should be replaced before component publication.

Upgrading: stop the previous daemon with the old executable before updating, then start it with the new executable. On Windows also stop managed instances before replacing the binary. The installer does not register an automatic boot service.

Native Linux/macOS/Windows workspace tests and all six cargo-dist packages are required by the release workflow. See the complete guide and fixes in PR #25.
