Signalino Suite 0.11.0 Preview

Evaluation release for macOS Apple Silicon, Windows x64 and Ubuntu/Debian amd64.
Not clinical validation or a commercially signed/notarized release.

Changes

  • Unified USB / Bluetooth Classic / Bluetooth LE selection, automatic discovery
    on startup and transport changes, and idle USB hotplug refresh. Connect remains
    explicit; a sole result is selected, multiple results require a choice.
  • Confirmed amplifier names beside USB ports, without trusting historical names
    for ports that may have been reassigned.
  • Diagnostics > Device Simulation (S3): use the S3's synthetic source without
    an ADS1299 or an external emulator. Disconnect before toggling. The selection
    is remembered and the source is checked before streaming. Requires compatible
    S4 firmware; firmware is not installed by this release. The computer mock and
    EDF replay remain separate.
  • Direct recording-folder access and an active recording line showing the final
    CSV filename and elapsed seconds. Stop freezes the counter during EDF export.
  • Connection/recording safety and impedance lifecycle fixes; Windows BLE receiver
    improvements accumulated since 0.10.0.

Install

  • Mac: quit Suite, open the arm64 DMG and replace the app in Applications.
  • Windows: quit Suite, including its tray icon, extract the entire x64 ZIP to a
    new folder and run SignalinoSuite.exe. The .NET runtime is included.
  • Linux: sudo apt install ./signalino-suite_0.11.0_amd64.deb, then launch
    signalino_linux_suite or use the desktop launcher.

Existing user settings are retained. Back them up before upgrading. Packages are
not commercially code-signed/notarized. Use the normal OS approval process; do
not disable system-wide security protections.

Validation and limitations

Release artifacts are published only after the three-platform desktop workflow
passes builds, shared tests, LSL/EDF integration and packaged-layout smoke tests.
BUILD_INFO.json identifies the exact revision and workflow run; SHA256SUMS.txt
provides download integrity checks. Third-party notices accompany the packages.

Local Mac USB tests confirmed S3 synthetic streaming and recording controls.
The user reports successful operation on other desktops; this is not exhaustive
physical-radio acceptance. Check USB/Classic/BLE on the intended computer and
adapter. Long-duration acquisition and clinical suitability are not established.
Multi-amplifier support and recovery behavior are not identical on all platforms.

The optional computer mock needs Python 3; EDF replay additionally needs numpy
and pyedflib. Windows hardware acquisition does not need Python. Android,
HepatoSense and firmware are separate releases and are not updated here.

Signalino Suite 0.10.0 Preview

Evaluation release for macOS Apple Silicon, Windows x64 and Ubuntu/Debian amd64.
This is not a clinical validation. Desktop packages are not production-signed.
The separately versioned Android 0.4.0 Preview pack is described below.

Changes since 0.9.0

  • Optional EDF+ export, recording montages and chronological recording filenames.
  • Native Settings, montage loading and EDF replay selection on all desktop shells.
  • Saved successful amplifier connections, identity checks and bounded BLE presence
    scans while idle. Availability is not proof that a device can stream.
  • Local Suite control APIs for configured/saved connections, viewer and impedance
    control. Linux uses a private Unix socket; Windows uses a same-user named pipe.
  • Windows mock now uses the same Python generator through a private pipe, without
    requiring virtual COM drivers. Linux/macOS retain their PTY transport.
  • Windows notification-area status and log pause; Linux colored status indicator.
  • Viewer metadata labels and recent-window loss indicators; owned LSL status is
    based on received frames, not merely cached stream discovery.
  • Scignals branding and revised About layout.
  • Private mock/Bluetooth endpoints cannot fall back to unrelated serial ports.

Install

  • macOS: open the arm64 DMG, quit the existing Suite and drag the new app into
    Applications. This preview is ad-hoc signed, not notarized; approve it through
    the normal macOS security dialog if needed. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.
  • Windows: extract the complete x64 ZIP to a new directory, quit the old Suite
    (including its tray icon), and run SignalinoSuite.exe. The .NET runtime is
    included. Closing the window hides it; Quit in the tray ends the Suite.
  • Linux: sudo apt install ./signalino-suite_0.10.0_amd64.deb. AppIndicator/BlueZ
    dependencies are recommended by the package; FLTK uses X11 or XWayland.

Existing per-user settings are retained. Back them up before testing an upgrade.
No firmware update is included or required by the installer.

Optional mock dependencies

The software mock requires Python 3 (select its executable in Settings if it is
not on PATH). Synthetic signals use only the standard library. EDF replay also
requires numpy and pyedflib in that interpreter; the packaged requirements-edf.txt
lists the dependencies. Hardware acquisition on Windows does not require Python.

First installed test

The Windows/Linux test guide
provides direct downloads, setup steps and a hardware-results template in Spanish.

  1. Open Settings and save/cancel a harmless edit; confirm existing settings remain.
  2. Diagnostics -> Mock: open the viewer and confirm eight moving traces/labels.
  3. Open/close impedances and confirm EEG resumes. Record briefly, stop and inspect
    the CSV and optional EDF+ files. Stop the mock: owned device/LSL lights must stop.
  4. Quit, reopen, then test physical USB/Classic/BLE separately. Confirm identity,
    sustained samples, disconnect/reconnect and saved connection selection.

Known limitations

  • Windows BLE previously discovered a physical unit but received no notifications
    on one adapter. That hardware failure is NOT claimed fixed by this release.
  • Automatic Bluetooth recovery and simultaneous multi-amplifier control are not
    equivalent across desktop platforms. This batch does not port HepatoSense's
    separate Linux/Windows client. Android is supplied as a separate preview pack.
  • USB port presence and Classic pairing do not establish amplifier availability.
  • Synthetic/EDF mock tests do not validate a USB driver, radio, electrodes or
    impedance calibration. Target hardware and long-duration tests remain needed.
  • Desktop packages are not commercially code-signed/notarized; no Intel Mac/Linux ARM
    packages are supplied. Firmware/update automation remains separate.

Validation

On 2026-09-17 the actual public Windows ZIP and Linux DEB were downloaded,
checksum-verified and tested again on native GitHub runners, without rebuilding.
Mock/impedance, LSL reader and independent MNE/EDF+ checks passed on both targets;
the Windows Suite also passed its populated-recording check. A fresh Mac DMG
download passed integrity/signature and packaged LSL/EDF tests locally.

This does not establish physical Bluetooth compatibility.

Native builds and shared core, LSL and EDF+ integration tests passed on macOS,
Ubuntu and Windows. The installed Ubuntu package and published Windows folder
passed mock streaming, impedance and shutdown checks; the Windows test also
verified a populated recording. The downloaded Mac DMG was signature-checked,
installed and launched with existing settings and saved connections preserved.
No new physical Windows/Linux Bluetooth validation is claimed.

BUILD_INFO.json identifies each artifact's source revision and build run.
SHA256SUMS.txt provides download integrity checks. Detailed validation evidence
is tracked in the source repository's PLATFORM_STATUS.md.
Third-party attributions are bundled and also supplied as a release asset.

Android 0.4.0 Preview

Added separately to this release; the original desktop assets are unchanged.
Download Signalino-Android-0.4.0-preview.zip for Android 12 or newer. It contains
Signalino Bridge and HepatoSense, installation instructions, a montage example
and third-party licenses. Install Bridge first, then HepatoSense from the same
pack. The APKs share a stable Scignals distribution signing identity.

Bridge handles BLE or already-paired Bluetooth Classic. HepatoSense provides
amplifier selection, signal preview, impedance display, recording, EDF export
and exploratory qEEG. Current acquisition uses eight EEG channels at 250 SPS
and gain 24. No Python or BrainFlow is needed. LSL/Wi-Fi bridging and USB input
are not included on Android.

Development APK migration: the distribution signature is different. Android
will not update the old development app in place. Export all required recordings
and results, copy them off the phone and verify the copies before considering
an uninstall. Uninstalling deletes private recordings, settings and history.
Nothing in the release process installs or uninstalls apps on your real phone.
Future distribution updates must retain this key and update both apps together.

BUILD_INFO-Android.json identifies source/build/certificate; verify Android
downloads with SHA256SUMS-Android.txt, separate from the desktop checksums.
Physical Bluetooth, screen-off behavior and long-duration recording require
separate phone/amplifier testing. This is not a clinically validated instrument.

Validation: source 1717b978b7826faf2fdfeced4e4b8900d332a22c, workflow
35194914264 (2026-09-17). JVM tests, release lint, matched certificate verification
and signed-APK installation passed. An Android API 35 emulator passed protected
Binder communication, SQLite recording, collision-safe naming, known 10 Hz FFT,
EDF export/trailing-gap checks and launch of both applications. Lint retains
25 Bridge / 5 client warnings, zero errors; this is not a warning-free release.
No new physical Bluetooth validation or installation on the user's phone is
claimed for these signed artifacts.

Signalino Suite 0.9.0 Preview

This is the first public preview of Signalino Suite. It is intended for
evaluation with Signalino development hardware and is not yet a signed
production release.

Included

  • exclusive USB, Bluetooth Classic and BLE transport selection where supported;
  • Signalino connection and LSL status;
  • live EEG viewer with stream selection;
  • impedance check window;
  • EEG, sensor and marker recording to CSV;
  • bounded diagnostic log and device commands;
  • support for stable Signalino device identities and multiple LSL streams.

Downloads

macOS Apple Silicon

Download Signalino-Suite-0.9.0-macOS-arm64-preview.dmg, open it and drag
Signalino Suite to Applications. It requires macOS 13 or later.

The preview is ad-hoc signed but not Apple-notarized. macOS may require using
Open from the application's context menu or approving it under Privacy &
Security. Do not disable Gatekeeper globally.

USB, paired Bluetooth Classic and native BLE are included.

Windows x64

Download Signalino-Suite-0.9.0-Windows-x64-preview.zip, extract the complete
folder and run SignalinoSuite.exe. The .NET runtime and LSL library are
included.

The preview is not code-signed, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may request
confirmation. USB and paired Bluetooth Classic are included. Native BLE is not
yet available in the Windows Suite.

Debian/Ubuntu x86_64

Download signalino-suite_0.9.0_amd64.deb and install it with:

sudo apt install ./signalino-suite_0.9.0_amd64.deb

The package targets Ubuntu 22.04 or a compatible Debian-based distribution.
USB, paired Bluetooth Classic and BlueZ BLE are included. Some desktop tray
features require the recommended AppIndicator packages.

Validation

The shared core, frame decoder and live LSL reader contracts pass on macOS,
Windows and Ubuntu in automated builds. The macOS disk image was also mounted,
signature-checked and launched on Apple Silicon before publication.

Known limitations

  • preview packages are not commercially code-signed or notarized;
  • macOS Intel and Linux ARM packages are not included;
  • Windows native BLE is pending;
  • firmware installation and application updates are not yet automated;
  • impedance values on prototype hardware still require hardware calibration.

Verify downloaded files against SHA256SUMS.txt when transferring them through
an untrusted intermediary.
