AtelierRelay is a local-first desktop workspace for notes, links, media, and AI-assisted project context.

Instead of spreading a project across separate notes, browser tabs, reference folders, screenshots, AI conversations, and prompts, AtelierRelay brings everything together inside a single thought.

Each thought acts as a living context container that can be captured quickly, developed with built-in tools, explored with AI, and relayed into documents, repositories, coding agents, or portable archives.

Capture, organise, and develop ideas

Create thoughts from the Homescreen or use Quick Capture from anywhere in Windows. Each thought can contain:

• Multiple rich-text note tabs
• Formatting, highlighting, dictation, and titled code blocks
• Organised web links with descriptions and previews
• Images, videos, audio, PDFs, and other project media
• Media stacks for keeping related versions and variations together
• Priorities, thought types, completion states, and custom ordering

Links and media can also be placed directly into Notes as contextual markers, keeping source material connected to the writing it supports.

A workspace that stays close

AtelierRelay is designed to remain available without taking over your desktop.

Work from a compact side workspace, expand a single thought, or enter Fullscreen to view Notes, Links, and Media together in resizable panels. Supporting links, documents, media, and AI conversations can be opened in separate windows and arranged around the main workspace.

Global shortcuts provide fast access to capture, search, tools, panels, themes, and AI features. Optional compact modes—including the Sidebar Rail and movable Mini-brain—allow AtelierRelay to retreat when inactive and return when needed.

Thought-aware AI

AtelierRelay can connect a thought to a configurable AI provider through its dedicated LLM workspace.

The AI can work with the thought’s available notes, links, media references, code blocks, and other supported context without requiring everything to be reconstructed as a new prompt. It can answer questions, refine ideas, create summaries, organise note tabs, and carry out other supported actions.

Three working modes provide different levels of control:

• Suggest — inspect the thought and provide read-only guidance
• Commit — prepare changes and request confirmation before applying them
• Agent — carry out supported actions autonomously

AI conversations remain attached to the thought they belong to, helping responses stay focused on the project at hand.

Repo-Link and Two-Way Link

Repo-Link creates a structured bridge between AtelierRelay and a project repository.

Linking a thought exports its tab-aware notes, described links, ordered media, media stacks, and AI-readable guidance into the repository. Coding agents can discover that context directly, reducing the need to repeatedly paste requirements, screenshots, research, and design decisions into prompts.

The optional Two-Way Link completes the context loop. Once enabled, AtelierRelay’s thought-linked AI chats can securely inspect the connected repository when relevant—listing files, searching the project, and reading safe text content on demand.

This allows the AI to compare your notes and plans with the project’s current implementation, answer repository-aware questions, and use that evidence when making supported changes inside AtelierRelay.

Repository access is deliberately controlled:

• Files are inspected only when requested or genuinely needed
• Repository content is not automatically attached to every AI message
• Ignored, generated, binary, oversized, and likely sensitive files are filtered by default
• Repository access is read-only—AtelierRelay does not directly modify project files
• Two-Way Link can be disabled independently without removing the existing Repo-Link

Together, Repo-Link and Two-Way Link allow context to move in both directions: AtelierRelay can relay organised project knowledge to the repository, while its AI workspace can read the repository’s current state and bring relevant findings back into the thought.

Built-in creative and practical tools

The Tool-dock keeps useful capabilities beside the current thought:

• SketchPad for drawing, annotation, shapes, text, and image editing
• Calculator for expressions, natural-language calculations, conversions, finance, and other helpers
• CreatePDF for turning a thought into a styled PDF
• Create as HTML for responsive, continuously scrollable exports
• Shortcuts for launching frequently used apps, files, and folders
• Optional Weather and Crypto Tracker widgets

Edited images can be saved back into Media or added as variants within an existing media stack, preserving the original while keeping related versions together.

Local-first and portable

Core thought data and imported media are stored locally on your computer. AtelierRelay does not require a first-party cloud workspace to organise and retain your projects.

Thoughts can be exported as portable bundles for transfer or archiving, published as PDF or HTML, or relayed into ordinary repository files through Repo-Link.

External features—including configured AI providers, web search, live weather, cryptocurrency data, and some link metadata—use network services when you choose to use them.

Customisable by design

AtelierRelay includes multiple themes, optional visual backgrounds, configurable layouts, display scaling, workspace placement, keyboard shortcuts, and background and glass controls.

The aim is to create a workspace that feels personal while remaining practical for long research, writing, design, planning, and development sessions.
