DoubleTalk 64 progress build 0.1.1

Pre-release

@SeanRandall SeanRandall released this 28 Jul 14:30

DoubleTalk 64 is the initial step in a full rewrite of the DoubleTalk engine. Until I have more out of the DT, we're using Monologue's rules to generate some words.

Experimental native, CPU-emulator-free NVDA DoubleTalk reconstruction. This compatibility build uses DoubleTalk ROM voice and dictionary work with Monologue-derived fallback rules for words not yet covered by the recovered DoubleTalk frontend.

Changes in 0.1.1

  • Added enabled-by-default ASCII normalization for smart punctuation and accented Latin text.
  • Added ROM-derived pronunciations for substandard, minicab, and attached.
  • Made punctuation pauses contract as speech rate increases.
  • Includes editable user dictionary and eight reconstructed voice presets.

This is a progress preview, not a finished or pure DoubleTalk reimplementation.

Added extra voice controls and voices, inspired on those from the DoubleTalk system. These are abstractions, not direct copies.
