TaskTracker v1.0.0
First tagged release of TaskTracker — a Jira-style Kanban task tracker for Windows, with two-way GitHub issue sync and an MCP server so Claude Code can manage your tasks.
Install
Download TaskTracker-win-x64.zip, unzip, run TaskTracker.exe. The build is self-contained and single-file, so no .NET installation is required. It is unsigned, so SmartScreen will warn on first run.
TaskTracker.Mcp-win-x64.zip is the MCP server, only needed if you want Claude Code (or another MCP client) to read and manage your projects. Register it with:
claude mcp add tasktracker --scope user -- C:\path\to\TaskTracker.Mcp.exe
Highlights
- Kanban board with custom columns per project, "done" flags, optional WIP limits, and drag and drop between columns or to a position within one
- Recurring tasks — completing one schedules the next occurrence
- Due dates, priorities and labels, with board filtering by any combination of label, due bucket and priority
- Bulk actions — select several cards and move or delete them at once
- Subtasks, activity journal and a work timer with accumulated time
- Today dashboard and weekly review across all projects
- Two-way GitHub issue sync — issues import as tasks, completing a task closes the issue and vice versa
- MCP server exposing projects, tasks, columns and checklists over the Model Context Protocol
- Per-project trash with 30-day retention, so a deletion stays recoverable long after the undo bar
- Keyboard and screen-reader support, dark and light themes, English and German UI
Your data
Everything lives in Documents/TaskTracker/ and never leaves your machine, apart from the GitHub API calls you trigger yourself. Saves are atomic with three rolling backups, and the app and MCP server share the files safely through a lock file.
The full list is in CHANGELOG.md, and README.md covers GitHub sync setup.
