QLog Extras 0.53.0-2 (macOS 13, Intel)
Unofficial QLog 0.53.0 with extras, for Intel Macs with macOS 13 Ventura. Not supported by the QLog author — report problems in Issues.
Tested on one system only: MacBook Air 13" (Mid 2013, Intel Core i5, 4 GB RAM) with macOS Ventura 13.7.8, installed with OpenCore Legacy Patcher. It has not been tested on other macOS versions or other Macs, and not at all on Apple silicon (M1 and later).
Same extras as 0.53.0-2 for Windows: the Rig Panel with REC, and the Panadapter. Documentation: Rig Panel · Panadapter
Install
- Open the DMG and drag
qlogto Applications. - The app is not signed by Apple. Remove the download block once in Terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/qlog.app - Allow the microphone when asked; REC needs it.
QLog uses the same log and settings as any other QLog 0.53.0 on this Mac. The database is the same as in QLog 0.53.0.
On macOS
- OmniRig does not exist on macOS. Connect the rig through Hamlib; the ports are named
/dev/cu.…(list them withls /dev/cu.*). - The Rig Panel meters and buttons need Share Rig via port in the rig profile. Hamlib and rigctld are inside the app.
- IC-705 scope in the Panadapter: Share Rig via port, and under Advanced → Additional Arguments
-C async=1,multicast_data_addr=224.0.0.1,multicast_data_port=4535. - RTL-SDR works without drivers; the library is inside the app.
- The Rig Panel puts Filter, S cal and S9+ on a second row when the window is narrow.
Built differently from the Windows release
- QLog includes the same SQLite version as Qt (3.49.1). With the system SQLite it crashed at start.
- Hamlib 4.7.2 carries a small patch: with
async=1, rigctld read the rig's replies before its reader thread was running, so the IC-705 never answered on macOS.
Tested with a Yaesu FTdx101MP (spectrum from an RTL-SDR Blog V4 on IF OUT) and an Icom IC-705. Built for Intel (x86_64), minimum macOS 13.0.
