New

  • Docker and Compose modules: running containers whose Docker healthcheck fails are shown as unhealthy, and crash-looping containers as restart loop (N). Compose stacks name the affected services instead, for example unhealthy: db or restart loop: worker. check_health (default on), restart_warn (default 3 restarts, 0 turns it off) and restart_window (default 10 minutes) control the checks, in both the docker and compose sections
  • Per-module timeout: a module that takes longer than global.timeout seconds (default 10) is shown as "Timed out" instead of holding up the login. Set timeout in a module section to override it for that module, 0 turns the limit off
  • Configuration reference: CONFIGURATION.md describes every option with its default

Changed

  • Both new checks are on by default, so containers that run but fail their healthcheck, or that keep restarting and have only just come back up, now cause a warning where they used to show as OK. Set check_health: false and restart_warn: 0 to get the old behavior
  • A module that used to take longer than 10 seconds and then show up is now cut off as "Timed out". Raise its timeout, or set it to 0, if it is slow but working

New

  • UPS module: shows status, battery charge, runtime and load of a UPS from Network UPS Tools (upsc), for example the NUT plugin (opt-in, add ups to global.display). ups.ups picks the UPS (default ups@localhost), ups.battery_warn / ups.battery_crit set the battery thresholds (default 50 / 20)
  • GPU module: shows NVIDIA GPUs from nvidia-smi with temperature, utilization and VRAM, plus the processes using the GPU, labeled by Docker container name where possible (opt-in, add gpu to global.display; needs the Nvidia Driver plugin). gpu.warn / gpu.crit set the temperature thresholds (default 80 / 90 °C), gpu.show_processes turns the process list off
  • Like the other modules, both only list rows that need attention while warnings_only is on (the default); set ups.warnings_only: false or gpu.warnings_only: false to always see the full details

Fixed

  • User Drives / System Drives: the MOTD no longer crashes when zfs list fails for a ZFS mount; that drive is skipped instead (reported by Masterwishx in the support thread)
  • ZFS drives that report 0 bytes used and 0 available now show 0% instead of a garbage percentage

Fixed

  • User Drives: bind mounts of a drive (for example a plugin mounting a folder from /mnt/cache somewhere else) no longer show up as extra rows with long paths; each drive is listed once, under its /mnt/ path (thanks @Joly0, #8)

New

  • Settings page under Settings → MOTD: edit config.yaml in the webGUI, preview the login output before saving, and save with YAML validation
  • motd --check-config validates a config file, and motd --preview --width <n> renders the output without a terminal

Changed

  • motd --dump-config now also works without a terminal
