Release notes in the Update dialog, and the Traffic dropdown fix that actually works

New

  • The Update dialog shows the release notes for the version it is offering, in a scrollable box
above the reboot warning. The decision to restart a router is now made against what changed rather
than against two version numbers. The notes come from MikroTik, because the router does not carry
them; an install with no route to the internet sees "Release notes unavailable" and everything else
    works as before.

Fixed

  • The Traffic dropdown still lost its interfaces in 0.7.37. The earlier fix did not prevent the
problem, it completed it. An interface that reports late, such as a ZeroTier tunnel, ended up
replacing the whole list instead of joining it, which is why one reporter's dropdown contained
    exactly zerotier1. (#119, thanks

  • Alerts went quiet on large fleets. Past 500 tracked interfaces, VPN peers, NetWatch hosts or
BGP peers, the alerter discarded what it knew about all of them at once. On a router at that size
a fleet-wide outage produced a single alert. It now forgets only what the router has stopped
    reporting.
  • A second RouterOS release is announced. A router left un-updated across two releases was only
    ever told about the first.
  • A site could be created called "null" by a form field that had been cleared, and creating a
second one then reported that the name was already taken.
  • Saving site membership sent every open browser a duplicate refresh.

Internal

  • Release-note lookups validate the version against a strict whitelist before any request is made,
cache per version, cap the response size while it downloads and time out.
  • A test suite can be confidently green about something it never checks: several rules added
recently were verified by removing them and watching the tests still pass. Those gaps are closed.
  • 1620 tests, 25 more than 0.7.37.
