Checkbox in default type does not update UI on click

Steps

Use checkbox component with type="checkbox"
click on checkbox to update the ui as selected.

Expected Result

The state and Ui should be in sync and the ui should also update

Actual Result

The state is updated but the ui is not updated and it remains unselected.
