Found by installing 4.0.0 from PyPI into a clean venv. --schema needs
jsonschema, an optional extra, so a plain install produced a traceback on
the first command the README tells people to run.

Now recorded as a failed check with install instructions rather than
skipped: a verifier that omits a requested check and still says VERIFIED
is worse than one that stops.
