ESPHome Support for the SEN6x

Hello Sensirion,

Is there a possibility that you would also create a pull request for an ESPHome sensor component like the SEN5x. As far as I know it's based on the Arduino framework. Maybe there will be also the option to take a look at the SEN5x component

I started porting the SEN5X component to SEN6X but not working so far ;(
Problem is that my C skills are very rusty.
I could get the sensor to connect and read firmware version and serial number but product name seems to be empty on my sen66 ek....
When reading the values it fails with a CRC check, reading works with the example

Short update!
I got my port running for the SEN66, turns out i just had to send the correct read command and viola, i got values back!
@nikolai2111 do you have a SEN66 or another model?

Warning! This is just a POC, only for the SEN66! but works for me ;)
You can use my external components from here:
external sen66 component

it's based on the SEN5X component, and only adapted to work with the SEN66.
check this example for usage:

No I think the only available product is the SEN66 dev kit? I have this one.

Is this something Sensirion will maintain in the feature officially?

Because I'm planning to make something like an open-source air-quality sensor based on the SEN6x sensors.

ESP Home support is typically maintained by the community, and we currently have no plans to maintain it ourselves.
We gladly provide support when we can though :)
