Sentient OS 2.7.1

hey everyone! sentient 2.7.1 is here :D

a smaller update today, with more useful ways to get started with sidekick & updated model choices :)

• smoother Double Tap setup. if setup or analysis is still needed, Double Tap now tells you next to your cursor instead of silently doing nothing. it also recognizes a populated knowledge base copied from another Mac without a restart. once analysis has saved useful knowledge, a source that still needs attention won’t keep Double Tap locked.
• more useful things to try. the home screen now has starters for finding subscriptions to cancel, catching missed follow-ups, researching a purchase, prepping your next meeting, planning a trip, and getting caught up. pick one and a new suggestion takes its place. it fills the message box so you can review it before sending.
• catch up across your conversations. the follow-up and catch-up starters now ask sidekick to look across email, iMessage, WhatsApp & Slack, wherever you have access. the follow-up starter prepares drafts and leaves them unsent.
• updated ChatGPT models. Faster now uses GPT-6.1 Terra, Medium uses GPT-6.1 Sol, and Smarter uses GPT-6 Astra, all with low reasoning effort.
• updated Claude choices. Faster uses Sonnet 5.5 with low thinking, Medium uses Opus 5.5 with low thinking, and Smarter uses Opus 5.5 with medium thinking.

for ChatGPT and Claude computer-use tasks, sidekick now requests the model you selected directly, without silently swapping it based on your plan. your provider’s model access and usage limits still apply.
