miwayomi v0.2.9
v0.2.9
Fixed
- "Continue watching" no longer repeats the same anime: watch-history
entries are stored per episode, so the home row previously showed one card
per watched episode of the same title. It now shows a single card per anime
(resuming the most recently watched episode), and trailing slashes are
stripped from URLs so harmless URL variations never create duplicates. - Added a regression test for the de-duplication logic
(scripts/test-watch-dedup.js).
Installers
miwayomi-0.2.9.exe— Windows installer with bundled JRE (fully standalone).miwayomi-setup-0.2.9-nojre.exe— lightweight Windows installer (needs JDK 21).miwayomi-all.jar— cross-platform JAR (needs JDK 21); used by the auto-updater.
miwayomi v0.2.8
v0.2.8
Added
- Docker:
Dockerfile+docker-compose.ymlrun the server on a slim
JRE 21 (no JDK, no browser) with a FlareSolverr sidecar built from
source inside a Python virtualenv; a named volume keeps the data directory
(SQLite, extensions, cookies) across restarts. - GHCR images:
ghcr.io/miwayomi/miwayomiand
ghcr.io/miwayomi/flaresolverr(multi-archlinux/amd64+linux/arm64)
are built and published by CI on every push tomainand every release,
withlatest/semver/shatags.
Changed
- Cloudflare solved via FlareSolverr only: the manual Cloudflare modal
(which launched its own headless Chrome over CDP) was removed. Challenges
are now resolved exclusively by FlareSolverr, the--chromeflag is gone,
and no browser is bundled with the server.

miwayomi v0.2.7
v0.2.7
Added
- Extensions loaded and saved in the database: installed extensions are
registered in the server's SQLite database and restored on every start, so
the installed list is shown in the Extensions tab without requiring any
repository. - Repository URLs persist: repository index URLs you add from the
Extensions tab are saved in the database and restored automatically, so you
don't have to re-enter them next time. - Extensions tab improvements: when no repository is configured it lists
the locally installed extensions; repositories can still be added, removed
and switched at any time.

miwayomi v0.2.6
v0.2.6
Added
- Watch history in the database: anime watch progress is now persisted
server-side in SQLite (newwatch_historytable and/api/v1/watchAPI),
so "Continue watching" and exact resume positions survive restarts and work
from any browser. - AniList sync (optional): connect your own AniList account from Settings
(OAuth) and miwayomi pushes your watched-episode progress to AniList
automatically (toggleable). - Player improvements:
- Invert episode order (newest/oldest) in the detail view and the player.
- Auto-play the next episode when the current one finishes (toggleable).
- Auto-select the best video source automatically (toggleable).
- ↺ Restart button per episode.

miwayomi v0.2.5
v0.2.5
Fixed
- Search HTTP 500 on some extensions: extension jars produced by the DEX→JVM
conversion could contain an invalidinvokespecial <init>owner, making the
JVM verifier reject filter classes (VerifyError) and every search return
HTTP 500. The server now repairs the constructor owner to the constructed
type, applies the repair to every extension jar on first load (tracked via
a marker entry), and preserves the original stack map frames so valid classes
are never rewritten. - Extensions from repositories that publish desktop JVM jars now use those
jars directly instead of converting the APK, avoiding the conversion
corruption entirely. - Manga extension search: removed the gzip/brotli network interceptors from
the default OkHttp client (newer sources require a default client without
them) and upgraded OkHttp to 5.4.0 (addingokhttp-zstd) so
okhttp3.CompressionInterceptoris available. - Newer source compatibility: added the
memofield toSManga/SChapter
and their implementations.

miwayomi v0.2.4
v0.2.4 (2026-08-10)
Fixed
- Startup screen no longer hangs: the "Checking for updates..." screen waited for the server's GitHub check, which could take ~45s on slow networks and made the app appear stuck showing only the splash. It now relies on the local update state and opens the app within a few seconds regardless of network speed; updates are still applied/relaunched automatically when one is ready.

miwayomi v0.2.3
v0.2.3 (2026-08-10)
Added
- In-app updater (all platforms): the server applies a downloaded update itself at startup by replacing the running jar — works on macOS/Linux even when running
java -jardirectly. A/api/v1/update/relaunchendpoint restarts the server with the same command line. - Startup gate:
/now shows a "Checking for updates..." screen before the WebUI, applies/downloads/relaunches as needed, and only opens the app once the server is up to date.
Fixed
- Auto-update was never applied when running the jar directly on macOS/Linux (only the Windows launcher applied it). Now it's applied from within the jar itself.

miwayomi v0.2.2
v0.2.2 (2026-08-10)
Fixed
- Search HTTP 500: search no longer forces
source.getFilterList()on every request. Some extensions'getFilterList()throwsInstantiationError(abstract filter classes instantiated in minified builds), which made every search return HTTP 500. Like Tachiyomi/Aniyomi, a plain text search now falls back to an empty filter list whengetFilterList()fails. - The 500 error handler now prints the full stack trace to ease diagnosis.
- Fixed a leftover Spanish log message (all logs are now English).

miwayomi v0.2.1
What's new in v0.2.1
Extensions from source
- miwayomi can now load extensions compiled directly from Kotlin source as JVM jars — no APK/dex2jar needed. Drop a jar with a
META-INF/miwayomi-extension.jsonmarker intodata/extensions/and it is loaded automatically: clean bytecode, noVerifyError. - New
scripts/compile-extension.shto compile a simple extension from its source into a loadable jar.
More reliable APK loading
HttpSource.chapterPageParseis now optional, matching the modern extension library, so newer keiyoushi sources work out of the box.- Global improvements to the dex→JVM converter (
JarFixer): better handling of R8-obfuscated APKs across the board (constructor super-calls, phantomnew, lazy-lambda init owners, missing<init>synthesis). Applied uniformly to every extension — no regressions (validated: manga 9 / anime 13).

miwayomi v0.2.0
v0.2.0 — Desktop launcher, auto-update & Windows installer
Run it the easy way
- Desktop app:
./miwayomi(macOS/Linux) /miwayomi.bat(Windows) start everything with one command — free port, all defaults, dedicated app window (Chrome/Edge--app), stops when you close it. - Plain JAR just works:
java -jar miwayomi-all.jar(port is optional — picks a free one, opens your browser).
Auto-update
- On startup the app checks GitHub for a newer release, downloads it and shows a banner in the WebUI ("close and relaunch to apply").
Windows installer
miwayomi-setup.exe— native NSIS installer (Start Menu / desktop shortcut). Build it from Linux withpackaging/build-installer.sh, or let the GitHub Actions workflow build it on each release.
Docs
docs.html/docs/index.mdnow have a Download section with direct links to the latest JAR and installer.
Includes everything from v0.1.x (language filter, fixed back button, infinite scroll without duplicates, logo, no horizontal scrollbars).
Assets: miwayomi-all.jar (any OS, needs JDK 21) · miwayomi-setup.exe (Windows).
