FileDO 2610102316
Download FileDO-2610102316-setup.exe and run it - that is
the installer. It carries the MSI below inside it; the bare .msi
is there for deployment tools that want it.
The installer is not code-signed, so Windows may show "Windows
protected your PC" on first run and ask for administrator
permission. Compare the SHA256 below, then choose "More info" and
"Run anyway". Why the warning appears, what the administrator
prompt is used for, and what FileDO never does:
https://serzhyale.github.io/FileDO/guides/install-trust.html
The MSI installs FileDO as a Windows program: the binaries and
filedo on PATH, a Start menu entry and a desktop icon for the
FileDO window, and - as a feature you can deselect on the
Customize page - the Explorer integration: the File DO.. group
on every file (Secure, Unsecure, Wipe this file, Check this file,
Info) and the .fd-sec document type with its own icon. On
Windows 11 the group lives under "Show more options". A second
feature you can deselect registers the .fdd disk-container type:
double-click mounts it in the FileDO window. Silent install:
msiexec /i <msi> /qn ADDLOCAL=Main,ExplorerIntegration,DiskContainerIntegration,DesktopShortcut.
The portable ZIP registers nothing by itself. Run
filedo fdsec register and filedo vd register (add -all-users
from an elevated console) to get the same entries, and
filedo fdsec unregister and filedo vd unregister to remove
them.
