Anairyspirit 0.1.392

macOS: the disk image is signed with our Developer ID and notarised by Apple.

What changed for you since 0.1.391

  • Install with npm. npx anairyspirit setup downloads this release for your machine,
checks it against the signed checksums and installs it; once installed, an AI client can
start the program with npx -y anairyspirit mcp. The npm package now carries the licence
    agreement it is distributed under.
  • The manual says what update leaves behind: before it changes anything it copies your
graph to graph.update.<time>.meh.bak in the data folder and keeps the four newest — these
are not the backups of backup.md, which are off until you switch them on.
  • The Docker image on GitHub's registry is linked to this repository.

Anairyspirit 0.1.391

macOS: the disk image is signed with our Developer ID and notarised by Apple.

What changed for you since 0.1.390

  • Docker: pull the image from a registry. For the first time the image is published on
GitHub's registry, ghcr.io/seventhwalllab/anairyspirit, and on Docker Hub,
seventhwalllab/anairyspirit, signed with cosign. docker pull and cosign verify are in
docs/install-docker.md; the image file on this page still works, with one docker tag.
  • Homebrew installs a ready-made build. brew install anairyspirit no longer needs Xcode
or Command Line Tools: a Mac whose tools were older than its macOS was refused before.
  • The install instructions match what happens. Every path was followed word for word on a
clean system. Homebrew needs brew trust once and git 2.24 or newer; openSUSE has its own
steps (import the release key, then zypper); after installing from the .tar.gz, open a
new terminal so the shell finds anairyspirit.

  • The menu-bar app shows what the service takes. A block of its own: Memory — the
service's memory right now — and Disk with your data, your backups and the free space.
anairyspirit status and the full-screen interface print the same figures.
  • Linux and Docker give memory back after the nightly consolidation. The model that
recognises names and relations is released after the pass; on Linux that memory now goes
back to the system — about 0.9 GB less after each consolidation on a memory of 12 thousand
    records.
  • A page on what the service needs from your machine (docs/FINOPS.md, also
anairyspirit man finops, and a short table in the README): memory, disk and search time
for the two search qualities, High and Balanced. We strongly recommend at least 5 GB of
    memory for the service.

What changed for you since 0.1.384

  • Backups of any size open again — including ones already written. Large graphs produced bundles that
could not be read back. Every bundle (backup now, scheduled backups, export-full) is now re-read after it
is written; one that does not read back is reported, not called saved.
  • The graph no longer grows on its own. Sleep stopped leaving stale copies behind, and the first start of
this version rebuilds an inflated graph once from what is live — on a real memory 256 MB became 71 MB. The
previous file is kept beside it as graph.meh.bak-rebuild until you remove it.
  • Starts are faster and say where they are. The search index builds about four times faster. While the
service starts, status, the tray and start name the phase instead of «not running»; start during a start
    no longer begins it again.
  • Backup and restore from the tray no longer stop the service, show a progress window, and name each file
with the date and time. Two exports in the same second keep their own files.
  • update asks the new version first whether it will open your memory, before it replaces anything. If not,
the old version keeps running and the reason is printed.
  • Safer copies. A copy of the graph interrupted halfway (for example a killed update) no longer leaves a
truncated file that looks like a backup.
  • Hooks with an append-only token can no longer write the agent's identity category.
  • Smaller fixes: an empty ANAIRYSPIRIT_DATA= means «not set» everywhere; a data directory so deep that its
local socket path is too long is named at once, with the way out; clearer messages in several refusals.

What changed for you

  • list_skills (MCP), GET /peripherals/skills and anairyspirit peripherals --skills no longer report
0 memories for a plug-in whose memory is on disk but not read yet since the start: they say null —
not counted yet — the same as /peripherals/namespaces. After the first read you see the real number.
  • Two unused search and storage methods were removed. Settings that still name them
(query_weight, qw_* in the spreading-activation stage) are accepted and ignored, with one warning line
at start. Backups made by earlier versions import as before.
  • THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES now carries the notices of everything built into the binaries, including the
ONNX Runtime linked into the Apple Silicon build.
  • Documentation: what disk encryption protects in each mode, and how to open a build that is not notarised.
