0 A.D. VR for Meta Quest v0.1.0-beta

First beta of 0 A.D. (Wildfire Games' free real-time strategy game) running natively on Meta Quest 3 / 3S. No PC needed.

The same APK also runs on PICO 4 / 4 Ultra / Neo 3 (PICO OS 5.9.0 or newer, tested; same button layout).

Features

• Battlefield as a 3D tabletop in front of you, game menus and HUD on a floating panel
• VR mode (sky around the table) and mixed reality mode (your room around the table). Switch with a short click on the left thumbstick
• Red laser pointer with a cursor on the battlefield, drag to box-select units
• Virtual keyboard for chat, player names and the lobby
• 1840 x 1920 per eye at 72 Hz

Install

1. Install 0AD-VR-Quest-v0.1.0-beta.apk with SideQuest or adb install.
2. Unzip 0AD-VR-Quest-data-v0.1.0-beta.zip and copy the 0AD folder to the root of the Quest's internal storage, so you end up with /sdcard/0AD/data/... (with SideQuest or adb push 0AD /sdcard/).
3. Start "0 A.D. VR" from Unknown Sources and allow "All files access" when asked.

Controls

Right controller:

• Laser: mouse pointer
• Trigger: select / click; hold and drag for a selection box
• Grip: order (move, attack, gather)
• A: follow selection
• B: cancel
• Stick: rotate (left/right) and zoom (up/down)

Left controller:

• Stick: scroll
• Trigger: Shift (batch training, add to selection)
• Grip: Ctrl
• X: idle worker
• Y: pause
• Menu: game menu
• Short stick click: VR / mixed reality

Hold both sticks in for 1 second to recenter.

Known issues

• Short freezes now and then while the AI players think.
• The data download is about 2 GB.
