Forsaken VR, a native Meta Quest 3 port of the 1998 6-degrees-of-freedom shooter, built on the ForsakenX source port.

Changes since v0.1.0-beta

  • New full APK with the game data built in: install, start, play. No separate data download.
  • Scripts and default settings are now installed by the game itself, also when "All files access" is granted after the first start.

What's in it

  • Full stereo 3D: the levels and the title room are all around you, look around freely while flying.
  • HUD as a see-through panel in front of the ship, the crosshair lines up with your guns.
  • Hits show as a red glow at the edge of your view instead of a flat red screen.
  • Touch controllers as a joystick, remappable in the game's own joystick options.
  • 72 Hz, standalone on the headset (no PC, no WinlatorXR).

Install

The APK has the game data built in.

  1. Download Forsaken-VR-v0.1.1-beta-full.apk from the
    releases page.
  2. Install it with SideQuest or adb install -r Forsaken-VR-v0.1.1-beta-full.apk.
  3. Start Forsaken VR from the app library (Unknown Sources) and allow "All files access".
    The first start unpacks the game data to /sdcard/Forsaken (about 185 MB, takes about a
    minute with a black screen), then the title appears.

Scripts and default settings come with the APK. Your pilots, settings and save games in
/sdcard/Forsaken stay across updates.

Sit facing forward when you start a level: the ship's nose points where you were looking.

The game data in the full APK is the ForsakenX forsaken-data package (original assets by Probe Entertainment / Acclaim, distributed by ForsakenX as abandonware).
