Wing Commander VR 1.0.1

Wing Commander VR is a standalone Meta Quest 3 and PICO port of Wing Commander (1990), built on the wc1-re reconstruction.

Changes since 1.0.0

• PICO support (untested): the same APK now also runs on PICO 4 / Neo 3 (PICO OS 5.9.0 or newer). The PICO controllers use the same button layout as the Touch controllers. PICO support is brand new and not tested on PICO hardware yet; feedback is welcome.
• On Android 10 headsets (PICO) the app asks for storage access on the first start and restarts by itself afterwards.

Features

• Stereo 3D space with head-look: ships at real depth, stars at infinity
• 3D cockpit built from the original cockpit art, with live gauges, radar and HUD
• Big floating screen for menus, rooms and briefings, with a laser pointer
• VR keyboard for pilot names
• Touch controllers as the flight stick (dead zone and expo curve for precise aiming)
• Settings in /sdcard/WingCommander/vr.cfg

Install

1. Install WingCommanderVR-1.0.1.apk with SideQuest or adb install -r WingCommanderVR-1.0.1.apk
2. Game data is not included. You need your own copy of the GOG DOS Wing Commander. Copy WC.EXE and the GAMEDAT folder to /sdcard/WingCommander/
3. Start Wing Commander VR from Library → Unknown Sources and allow file access
