AutoMonOffinator v1.0.0 – First Public Release

What is it?

AutoMonOffinator is a Windows utility designed to protect OLED screens from burn-in by automatically dimming static interface elements. It intelligently detects idle states, video playback, and UI activity to reduce pixel wear without sacrificing usability.

Key Features

🖥️ Taskbar Dimmer

  • Dims the Windows taskbar when not in use
  • Configurable dimming strength (0–100%) and width percentage
  • Smooth fade animations

🌐 Browser UI Dimmer

  • Darkens browser edges (top, bottom, left, right)
  • Supports Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, and more
  • Hover detection – dimming disappears when mouse enters the browser area
  • Configurable edge margins and excluded browser processes

🎬 Screen Dimmer (Idle + Focus Dimming)

  • Dims the entire screen after user inactivity
  • Focus Dimming – automatically detects video playback and keeps the video area at full brightness while dimming the rest of the screen
  • Video detection works in browser windows (YouTube, Twitch, etc.)
  • Configurable idle timeout, dimming strength, and fade speeds
  • Support for multiple monitors with per-monitor settings

📱 App UI Dimmer

  • Dim any application window using custom layer profiles
  • Each profile defines a process name, dimming strength, and layers (margins: top, bottom, left, right)
  • Multiple layers per application with automatic overlap handling
  • Hover interaction – hovering over a layer makes it and all higher layers transparent

⚙️ Configuration Console

  • Full control over all dimming modules and system power settings
  • Real-time status of all dimmers (enabled/running)
  • Windows power timer management (sleep, hibernate, monitor turn-off)
  • Hibernation file management
  • Video player exceptions
  • Monitor ignore lists

🔧 Additional Features

  • System Tray – quick access to settings and exit
  • Watchdog – automatically restarts crashed dimmer components
  • Multilingual – interface adapts to system locale (Russian/English)
  • Autostart – option to launch with Windows
  • Resource-Friendly – uses native WinAPI overlays (no Tkinter)

System Requirements

  • Windows 10 / 11 (64-bit)
  • No additional runtime installations required

Installation

  1. Download the ZIP archive from this release
  2. Extract to any folder

  • Multi-monitor setup with different DPIs may cause minor positioning issues
