v0.2.0 — Hosting benchmark agent pilot
Pre-releaseShape.host Agent 0.2.0 is an MIT-licensed pilot prerelease for Ubuntu 24.04 on x86-64 and ARM64.
It installs the required benchmark tools, runs bounded CPU, memory, disk, network and PostgreSQL workloads, retains raw evidence, and can submit reports to the Shape.host private review queue with a scoped credential. Publication always requires manual review.
Downloads
Download the source archive and its matching .sha256 file, verify it with sha256sum -c, then extract it. From the extracted agent directory:
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS
./install.sh
shapehost-agent --version
shapehost-agent run --profile smoke --output ./report --local-onlyRun workloads as an unprivileged user. The installer requests sudo when needed. The .pyz executable requires Python and the benchmark tools; the source archive installer prepares them automatically.
Verification
- 31 Python tests and GitHub Actions checks passed.
- Standalone executable/archive builds are reproducible and checksum-verified.
- Runtime and installer are byte-identical to the qualified platform build: clean Ubuntu ARM64 installation and all 15 actual smoke measurements passed.
- An actual report was submitted twice idempotently and remained private in pending review.
- Standalone documentation and packaging were added for this publication; release files contain their own source revision and hashes.
Qualification limits
This is a pilot, not a fully qualified production benchmark release. Live provider metadata, x86-64 execution, full pilot and 24-hour campaigns remain to be qualified. Smoke/container measurements cannot establish provider performance. Network traffic is capped at 100 Mbit/s. Release signing and permanent package mirrors remain open.
See README, SECURITY.md and docs/QUALIFICATION.md for operation and qualification details.
