Robot Builder v1.1.0 adds the mechatronics engineering underneath every build, plus the NVIDIA robotics stack, and ships a package for every supported environment.
What's new
Nine new reference modules (28 total), each self-contained
mechanics-and-structures— torque and power budgets, gears, bearings, stress, tip-overmaterials-and-manufacturing— plastics and metals, print orientation and strength, fasteners, tolerances, design for manufacture, fab routeelectronics-and-power-design— schematics, power tree, regulators, wire gauge, EMI and grounding, ADC, PCBactuators-and-drives— motor, servo and stepper sizing, drivers and ESCs, deratingmodeling-and-control-theory— transfer functions, state space, Bode and root locus, margins, Kalman, system identificationthermal-and-fluid-systems— heatsinks, airflow, derating; buoyancy, drag, thrusters, pressure housingsproduction-and-commercial— unit cost, suppliers, QC, certification route, shipping lithiumnvidia-isaac-sim-and-omniverse— OpenUSD, Omniverse, Isaac Sim, Replicator synthetic data, Isaac Lab at scalenvidia-isaac-ros-and-groot— Isaac ROS on Jetson (NITROS, visual SLAM, nvblox, AprilTag, TensorRT) and GR00T
Bundled calculators — engineering_calcs.py, thermal_fluid_calcs.py and manufacturing_calcs.py, standard library only, each runnable with --demo.
New packaging — an OpenAI Agent Skill zip (with agents/openai.yaml) and an OpenAI Agent Plugin zip (plugin.json per the Agent Plugins 1.0.0 schema), alongside the existing Claude, Custom GPT, Gemini, Hermes and OpenClaw builds.
Verified across every front-door
Each platform front-door answered the same engineering and NVIDIA questions, graded adversarially against primary sources. That testing found and fixed real errors in the skill, not just wording:
- Isaac Lab and Isaac Sim version pairing (Lab 2.3.x with Sim 5.1 only; the Lab 3.0 beta with Sim 6.0.x; there is no Sim 6.1)
- Isaac Sim Python versions (3.12 for 6.x, 3.11 for 5.x, 3.10 for 4.x)
- GPU rental advice, which had suggested an A100 for Isaac Sim; Isaac Sim needs an RTX card
- the register gate, which now treats a start with the key hardware already owned like a mid-build question: ask only about what is missing, with no budget interview or kit price roundup
- skill metadata now fits the claude.ai and Codex limits, enforced by a build guard
