Windows Installation (Installer)

1. Download Rune Companion Setup <version>.exe from the latest GitHub Releases.
2. Double-click the downloaded .exe file to start the setup wizard.

   Note: If Windows SmartScreen displays "Windows protected your PC", click More info $\rightarrow$ Run anyway (this appears on new open-source executables).

3. Follow the installation steps:
   • Choose your install directory (default: C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Programs\rune-companion).
   • Choose whether to create a Desktop shortcut.
4. Click Install. Once finished, launch Rune Companion from your Desktop or Start Menu.

Windows Portable Version

1. Download Rune Companion <version> Portable.exe.
2. Move the .exe file to any folder (e.g. Desktop or Documents or a USB drive).
3. Double-click to run immediately — no installation or admin rights required.

Windows How to Update

• In-App Update Check: Click the ⚡ Update button in the top titlebar. If an update is available, click Download Update or GitHub to get the latest version.
• Installer Update: Simply download and run the latest Rune Companion Setup <new_version>.exe. It will automatically detect and upgrade your existing installation without losing your accounts, skills, or quest progress.
• Portable Update: Replace the old .exe with the new portable .exe.

Windows How to Uninstall

1. Open Windows Settings (or press Win + I).
2. Navigate to Apps $\rightarrow$ Installed apps (or Apps & features).
3. Search for Rune Companion.
4. Click the three dots ($\cdots$) and select Uninstall.
5. Follow the uninstaller prompts to remove the program files.

Alternatively:

• Go to C:\Users\<YourUsername>\AppData\Local\Programs\rune-companion and double-click Uninstall Rune Companion.exe.
