6. Social Media Strategy

For the product "Music Rhythm Pickup Atmosphere Melody RGB Sound Control Sensing Audio Spectrum Neon LED Light Strip", the following are some planned social media strategies:

  • Use the time to collect photos of our work together to prepare for video editing later

  • use video editing software to organise and edit the videos you collect during the day

  • Publish posts on Facebook and Twitter with product photos and videos, and share interesting facts and details about the design and making of the product in the post to attract the attention of technology enthusiasts.   • Create a YouTube channel to showcase the product's musical response and lighting effects, and share how-to and DIY product videos to reach a broad audience. There is a link to our Youtube πŸ”— You can click on this to watch our updated video.

  • Use the Reddit community to post music and DIY-related posts, and share product information and links to attract the attention of relevant users. We refer to relevant websites such as Reddit community πŸ”—

  • Set up a dedicated blog or website to share product design, production and use details, and at the same time publish some content related to music and lighting to attract the attention of relevant users.

  • Finally the videos were repeatedly sorted and censored to leave the best ones

  • During the editing and production of the video we encountered many problems:

    1. During the editing process, we wanted to upload the video to GitHub in its original quality, but GitHub has a file size limit, so we couldn't upload the video in its original quality, we had to choose a smaller file size. gif format to upload to GitHub. (such as step for our app for projects finished.gif)
    2. In the process of compressing the video to .gif, there were problems with incorrect compression and poor image quality. (such as final product-4.gif)
  • We also encountered several problems with media outreach:

    1. We were not consistent enough in our media campaign, which needs to be improved in the future.
    2. The video clips took too long.
