Appause v0.5.44 is the first Public Beta release.

Highlights

• Focus groups and cooldowns for deliberate app openings.
• Temporary Pass, safe Home escape, and a bounded pause overlay.
• Appause Pro 7-day trial and optional activation-code unlock, started only by the user.
• Accessibility health reporting now reconciles live service evidence and remains fail-closed without it.

Setup

1. Download Appause-v0.5.44.apk and install it over an existing Appause install; do not uninstall if you want to keep local groups and settings.
2. Enable Appause in Android Accessibility settings.
3. On Xiaomi/HyperOS, allow Autostart and set battery use to Unrestricted; locking Appause in Recents may also help background reliability.
4. Usage Access is recommended for more accurate foreground checks. Display-over-other-apps is an optional fallback only when needed.

Known limitations

OEM background-management behavior varies. Xiaomi/HyperOS and similar ROMs may require the setup steps above for reliable background interception. This Public Beta includes bounded physical smoke coverage, not a claim of exhaustive device/OEM QA.
