Windows PC Toolkit v2.0.0 — safe-by-default overhaul
Major rewrite of every tool. Exact JSON snapshots, honest rollback, and removal of permanent “tweak pile” behavior.
App versions
| Package | Version | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| PC Corruption Fixer | 7.1.1 | Full Repair no longer resets network; Repair-Volume primary disk scan; reversible AI policies |
| PC Privacy Guard | 2.0 | Balanced (recommended) vs Strict; exact registry/service/task undo |
| Encrypted DNS (DoH) | 2.1 | One provider at a time; official HTTPS templates; mode-aware DHCP/static restore |
| PC Gaming Optimizer | 4.0 | Shared module; measurement-first; no permanent timer/NIC/MSI/SysMain hacks |
Highlights
- Snapshots live under
%ProgramData%\WindowsPCToolkit\... START_TOOLKIT.bat— single launcher menu for all tools + validationValidate_All.ps1— parser + safety regression checks (29 scripts, all green on release train)- Launchers use absolute
System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
Downloads
windows-pc-toolkit-v2.0.0.zip— full package (recommended)- Individual tool zips if you only need one app
Upgrade notes
If you used Gaming Optimizer v3.x, run Repair v3.x Tweaks once (opt-in) to clean legacy overrides.
If you used the old mixed Quad9+Mullvad DNS script, re-apply a single provider profile from Encrypted DNS Manager 2.1.
Safety
Windows Update / games / browsers kept safe by default. Strict Privacy and network stack reset require explicit confirmation.
MIT license. Create a System Restore point first. Use at your own risk.
