uvx trimscript open my-video.mp4

Needs uv and ffmpeg. The first run downloads the speech model (about 470 MB).

In this release

  • Local transcription with whisper.cpp (English), keeping every um and uh
  • Delete words and the video skips them; removed parts fold into a label with the seconds saved
  • Trim fillers and Tighten pauses in one go, then Tab through the edits to listen
  • Stray sounds: jump to voice the transcript has no word for, and decide
  • Nudge any join by 10 ms, fix misheard words, Clean audio to -14 LUFS
  • Export MP4, WAV, SRT/VTT, or FCPXML for Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve
  • MCP server: a coding agent reads the transcript and suggests removals with a reason; you approve them in the editor

Known limits

  • English only
  • The editor has been used on macOS only so far. CI runs transcribe, remove and export on macOS, Linux and Windows
  • Early: file formats and tool names may still change

Bug reports and feature requests: issues.
