@zFl4wless zFl4wless released this 17 Oct 17:21
b092955

First regular release of the community-maintained Dokploy template, maintained by Simplarix.

  • Independent repository or organization runner configuration, with unique names, labels and existing groups.
  • Maintained upstream runner image, pinned to 2.338.0-ubuntu-noble and its multi-architecture digest; no image or runtime change since v0.1.0-rc.1.
  • Explicit Dokploy environment forwarding and startup validation; non-root defaults without privileged mode or a host Docker socket.
  • Setup/security documentation, example workflows and MIT licensing for original files.

Validation: repository-runner deployment, real CI jobs and repeat execution after Stop → Deploy have been exercised in Dokploy. Automated checks cover configuration and mocked lifecycle behavior on ARM64/AMD64. Release-commit CI.

Limits: live organization/group behavior, parallel independent deployments, catalog import, exact in-place restart, auto-update and complete shutdown deregistration remain unverified. Docker-dependent jobs are unsupported by the defaults. No general performance or cost-saving claim is made.

Start with the setup guide and validation summary. Thanks to the maintainers of myoung34/docker-github-actions-runner, actions/runner and Dokploy.

@zFl4wless zFl4wless released this 16 Oct 23:41
5c4abc5

First release candidate for live validation of the Dokploy template.

  • Independent GitHub repository or organization runners with configurable names, labels and existing organization groups.
  • Maintained runner image 2.338.0-ubuntu-noble, pinned by digest; upstream lifecycle handling, explicit credential forwarding and startup validation.
  • Non-root defaults without privileged mode or host Docker socket access; MIT-licensed original code, setup/security docs and example workflows.

Verified: CI on release commit 5c4abc5, including configuration validation, nine unit test methods and offline container lifecycle tests. Mock lifecycle coverage passed on local ARM64 and GitHub-hosted AMD64. Tests use the real pinned image and upstream entrypoint, with token exchange, registration/removal and the job listener mocked; scenario networking is disabled.

Pending live validation: Dokploy deployment/import, real GitHub authentication and registration/deregistration, organization group permissions, parallel job routing, real workflow execution and runner auto-update. No production deployments have been performed. Docker/container workflows are unsupported by the defaults.

Follow the step-by-step live acceptance checklist before production use or a stable release. The upstream image version remains unchanged; v0.1.0 has not been published.
