Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 14 Oct 23:38

Messages for Linux, packaged as an x86_64 Flatpak with the shared Luma UI.

Sign in to Luma Hub, enter a one-time connection code, and message other Luma accounts with end-to-end encryption. Device credentials use Secret Service. The native helper receives credentials through a sealed memory descriptor. The package also includes the existing Google Messages and WhatsApp helpers.

Install:

flatpak install --user ./Messages-0.1.3-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Messages//standalone

The bundle uses GNOME Platform 50 and contains a Luma Depot signature. Application and packaging source, matching dependency sources, and checksums are attached.

Verified on Ubuntu: signed package installation, desktop launch, live Luma sign-in, native helper connection, and sign-out removing the saved device credential. Live encrypted send/receive was also verified between the native clients. Google Messages and WhatsApp account linking was not exercised against their live services in this release check.

Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 13 Oct 05:31

Tasks for Linux, with LumaUI and the existing responsive task interface.

Download Tasks-0.1.2-x86_64.flatpak, then install and launch:

flatpak install --user ./Tasks-0.1.2-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Tasks//standalone

Lists and offline caches are shared with other desktop EDS clients. This bundle does not provide a separate Luma Connect sign-in.

Verified on Ubuntu 24.04: task creation and editing, stale-edit protection, completion and undo, comments, persistence after restart, deletion and restore, responsive layouts, desktop launch and authenticated HTTPS CalDAV create/edit/complete/delete between two clients. Credentials are stored by the desktop keyring.

The bundle is signed. SHA256 checksums, the public signing key, source receipt and dependency source inputs are attached.

Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 13 Oct 02:34

Notes 0.1.0 for x86_64 Linux, available as a signed Flatpak and an AppImage.

Write rich-text notes, organize pages and folders, and sync your account library
with Luma Hub. Sign-in uses a browser connection code and the desktop keyring.
Notes on this computer stay in a separate local library.

Install with Flatpak

Download Notes-0.1.0-x86_64.flatpak, then:

flatpak install --user ./Notes-0.1.0-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Notes//standalone

Flatpak downloads the shared Freedesktop 25.08 runtime from Flathub if needed.
Install a later release bundle to update Notes.

AppImage

Download Notes-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage, make it executable and open it.
Without FUSE, use --appimage-extract-and-run. Saving a sign-in requires a
desktop Secret Service keyring, such as GNOME Keyring or compatible KWallet.

Tested on Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS. SHA256SUMS covers the release files;
luma-depot.gpg is the public Flatpak signing key. The dependency source archive
is optional and is not needed to run Notes.

Application and packaging source
remain in the Luma source repository.

Notes-0.1.0-dependency-sources-corrected.tar contains the corrected dependency source inventory and supersedes the original source archive. Application downloads are unchanged.

Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 13 Oct 03:47

Leaf 0.1.0 for x86_64 Linux, available as a signed Flatpak.

Read EPUB books, save reading progress, bookmarks and highlights, and browse
Calibre or OPDS libraries. Read aloud uses the desktop voice service or the
included eSpeak NG basic voice.

Install

Download Leaf-0.1.0-x86_64.flatpak, then:

flatpak install --user ./Leaf-0.1.0-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Leaf//standalone

Flatpak downloads the shared GNOME Platform 50 runtime from Flathub if needed.
Install a later release bundle to update Leaf. The Luma desktop and Luma Platform
are not required. Library passwords use the desktop Secret Service keyring.
Reading state is saved locally; this release does not include Luma Connect
reading sync.

Tested on Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS, including EPUB rendering, desktop file opening,
saved reading state, keyring storage, TLS checks and both read-aloud paths.
SHA256SUMS covers the release files; luma-depot.gpg is the public Flatpak
signing key. The dependency source archive is optional and is not needed to run
Leaf.

Application and packaging source
remain in the Luma source repository.

Leaf-0.1.0-dependency-sources-corrected.tar contains the corrected dependency source inventory and supersedes the original source archive. Application downloads are unchanged.

Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 13 Oct 23:11

Charlie 0.2.14 for Linux, packaged as an x86_64 Flatpak with its selected LumaUI dependencies. Requires GNOME Platform 50, downloaded from Flathub when needed.

flatpak install --user ./Charlie-0.2.14-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Charlie//standalone

Accounts and mail remain in the application sandbox; saved credentials use the desktop Secret Service keyring. The package runs its own mail engine. HTML messages block sender scripts and remote images by default.

Validated on Ubuntu with native UI and HTML privacy checks, credential storage, and local TLS mail fixtures. Live third-party mail accounts were not used for validation.

flatpak install --user ./Calendar-0.1.1-x86_64.flatpak
flatpak run org.projectluma.Calendar//standalone

Uses the shared Freedesktop Platform 25.08 runtime, which downloads from Flathub if needed. Luma Platform is not required.

Calendar uses the host's Evolution Data Server. On GNOME, connect supported accounts through desktop Online Accounts; other CalDAV accounts can be configured in Evolution. Choose a tag to compare

@nmcmil nmcmil released this 12 Oct 20:42

Tide is a music player for local libraries and Navidrome/Subsonic servers, with offline downloads and desktop media controls.

Tide desktop layout

Tide compact layout

Linux x86_64 downloads:

  • Flatpak (103 MiB): signed bundle using the shared Freedesktop 25.08 runtime. Flatpak downloads that runtime if needed; the full Luma Platform is not included.
  • AppImage (124 MiB): includes its required libraries and needs no separate application runtime.

Install the Flatpak, then open Tide from Applications:

flatpak install --user ./Tide-0.1.0-x86_64.flatpak

Or launch it with flatpak run org.projectluma.Tide//standalone. This bundle does not configure an application update remote; install a later release bundle to update it.

For the AppImage, mark it executable and open it. Without FUSE, use ./Tide-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage --appimage-extract-and-run. Saved server sign-ins use the desktop's Secret Service keyring. Flatpak can read Music; select other locations with the folder picker.

Tested on Ubuntu 24.04.5 with Navidrome 0.64.2: FLAC, MP3, AAC, Vorbis, Opus and WAV playback; pause and seek; artwork; saved credentials; offline playback; HTTPS; desktop launch and MPRIS controls. All 201 Tide unit checks passed.

Application source and packaging recipes remain in the Luma monorepo. SHA256SUMS contains download checksums; the optional dependency source archive contains upstream sources, patches and build recipes. luma-depot.gpg is the public signing key.

Tide-0.1.0-dependency-sources-corrected.tar contains the corrected dependency source inventory and supersedes the original source archive. Application downloads are unchanged.
