This release includes packages for x64 architecture only.

Installation

Debian/Ubuntu (.deb)

Download the .deb file for x64:

  • x64: GitHubDesktop-*-amd64.deb

Install with:

sudo apt install ./GitHubDesktop-*.deb

Red Hat/Fedora (.rpm)

Download the .rpm file for x64:

  • x64: GitHubDesktop-*-x86_64.rpm

Install with:

sudo rpm -i GitHubDesktop-*.rpm

Snap (Ubuntu and other Linux distributions)

Download the .snap file for x64:

  • x64: gitpeach-desktop_*.snap

Install with:

sudo snap install --dangerous ./gitpeach-desktop_*.snap

Architecture Detection

To determine your system architecture, run:

uname -m
  • x86_64 or amd64 → use x64 packages
