This is a prerelease for validating the new single-Node Launcher experience, native Windows runtime, and signed desktop update channel before the next stable release.

Updates

• Refactor StarAgent into two focused modes: a standalone single-Node Launcher and the existing multi-Node Hub.
• Scope Agents, Sessions, Logs, Settings, and Current Node views to the selected Node.
• Redesign Agents as a Harness-centered workspace with Codex and Claude Code status, installation sources, login guidance, configuration and environment editing, update actions, conversation discovery, and a real interactive test terminal.
• Add official and China-friendly Harness installation paths while keeping command execution allowlisted.
• Add a native Windows desktop runtime bundled with PyInstaller and backed by Windows ConPTY, with no WSL, Python, or tmux prerequisite.
• Keep Linux and macOS desktop builds on their established native StarAgent CLI and tmux backend.
• Add signed desktop auto-update checks, a confirmation and progress UI, safe restart handling, and package-specific updater mapping for Linux, Windows, and universal macOS builds.
• Generate signed updater artifacts and latest.json from GitHub Releases, with release/version synchronization checks in CI.
• Expand Windows packaged-runtime smoke coverage, desktop updater tests, security regressions, and bilingual desktop documentation.

Preview notes

• This release is intentionally marked as a GitHub Pre-release.
• Operating-system publisher signing and notarization are not configured yet, so Windows and macOS may show an unknown-publisher warning.
• GitHub's stable releases/latest endpoint does not select pre-releases. Install this preview manually from its Assets; the in-app stable update channel remains reserved for stable releases.
